SONYAS HELPING HANDS WILL HOST OUR GRAND OPENING EVENT IN THE GREAT CITY OF GARLAND TEXAS , ON APRIL 27, 2019 WE WILL FEED UP TO 250 FAMILIES HERE IN THE DALLAS COUNTY AREA. WE ARE TAKING A STAND AGAINST HUNGER ! WE NEED VOLUNTEERS TO COME OUT TO STAND WITH US IN ORDER TO MAKE THIS SUCCESSFUL . WE WILL STRIDE TO END HUNGER ONE FAMILY AT A TIME . WE HOPE TO GAIN YOUR SUPPORT AS THIS IS A VERY SERIOUS ISSUE IN THE AREA . WE WILL ALSO BE GIVING INFORMATION ABOUT OUR UPCOMING YOUTH PROGRAMS .

Opportunity Details

MANNA distributes 50,000 pounds of food everyday to serve the more than 110,000 people in WNC's 16 counties facing food insecurity. This is achieved through the hard work of nearly 100 volunteers in MANNA's warehouse everyday. Volunteer projects change daily in the warehouse based on priority and need. Projects could include, but are not limited to: sorting and packing food donations, packing housewares and hygiene products, culling and bagging produce, or packing MANNA Packs.

Opportunity Details

Jewish Food and Art Festival will take place on Sunday, May 19 from 11 am - 5pm. We will feature Jewish food for sale, Jewish Artists selling their pieces of original art, Jewish music, and a kids entertainment area. We will hold a raffle during this time as well and will be raising money to support the Jewish family service food pantry which services the entire community. This event serves as an outreach initiative for our community and we are looking for volunteers to help run the day.
