
Opportunity Details
Our Sanctuary Lunch Service requires 16 volunteers per shift, Monday - Friday. The volunteer shift is 10:30 am -2:00 pm. Our meal service runs similarly to a restaurant. Volunteers will be assigned a role when they come in to volunteer. Volunteers can expect to be on their feet for the entire shift. All orientation and training will be provided the day of and is built into the volunteer shift. At BSM, we recognize that volunteering as a family can be very meaningful and welcome youth who are at least 16 years old to participate in the Sanctuary Lunch Service. All youth under the age of 18 need to have a released signed by a parent or legal guardian.

We are a lean and active team of organizers and project developers without dedicated overhead for robust administrative capacity. As such, we spread grant-writing and reporting, program budgeting and accountability, and organizational development out across our entire staff. We're always looking for specific skill sets to leverage, including database management, communications, and website development. CFCC hosts a two-day Food Summit annually in April in downtown Toronto. In 2018, we brought together 60+ food security organizations and 180 people from across Canada to come together to share ideas, make meaningful connections, and get energized for our collective work in building a healthy and fair food system. The next Food Summit is scheduled for spring 2019.We rely on passionate volunteers and good food advocates to help us ensure the Food Summit is a success.
Volunteers help with registration, workshop and session assistants, merchandise, ushers, coat check attendants, and general helpers.

Opportunity Details
Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Milwaukee and Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin are partnering to support the families of Club members at our LaVarnway Club. Volunteers will assist in unloading food from food trucks and pre-packing food bags. Volunteers will have the option to distribute the pre-packaged items to families, but are not required.Youth under 18 are welcome to volunteer, but must be accompanied by an adult. Complete and submit the attached volunteer waiver and release form on the day of the event.
