#GivingTuesday, or in our case #GivingFOODSDay, is a movement that inspires people across the world to give back in their own communities.
We invite corporate teams from across the Region to join the Food Bank of Northwest Indiana on this global day of giving!
Take a day out of your busy schedule to volunteer and help address hunger right here in the Region. Join us for #GivingFOODSDay on Tuesday, December 1st at 6490 Broadway, Merrillville. Your corporate team will have an opportunity to sort and pack food boxes that will later be distributed during a special “Hope For The Holidays” Mobile Market Distribution, serving approximately 1,000 families.
Your team will:
- Choose one of our 2 time slots (9am – 11am or 1pm -3pm).
- Wear company logo gear (a team photo will be part of the day).
- Wear masks and agree to COVID-19 safety precautions.
- Consider making a team/company donation to the Food Bank of Northwest Indiana.
Just $1 provides 3 meals for individuals and families struggling with hunger.
Share your photos from the day and tag the Food Bank of Northwest Indiana using #GivingFoodsDay.
While making a significant impact in the community, you can also promote team building among your colleagues.

Our Virtual Food Drive is a representational shopping app that demonstrates Gleaners’ buying power vs. shopping retail. Selections include our most-commonly purchased items, including fresh fruits and vegetables.
Start a Fund Drive:
Become a Hunger Hero and FUNdraise for good using our online peer-to-peer fundraising platform. Set up your personal or team FUNdraiser, and ask your network for support. Share your FUNdraiser on Facebook and other social media outlets to increase your donations and tell people about Gleaners.

- Reference tool kits to get started
- If departments/locations are wanting their own teams to compete, each team will need a "Team Captian" to manage the drive. Please reach out to Peter Erotas if there are any questions. In the creation phase here please follow these guidelines for teams:
1. "Elanco: Department(s)" name for the team or just 1 Elanco team for each drive.
2. IF 1 Elanco team for each drive, Captains' account: FIRST name (Team Name) and
LAST name (Captain's first and last name). donations towards the appropriate
team captains page.
