We are looking for volunteers to help us with kitchen duties which could include packaging, prepping and organising produce that is delivered.

The kitchen team is key in delivering FoodwithLove services to the disadvantaged at their homes. We give a lot of care and attention to the food we deliver, as for many - it is the only meal they will eat that day.

To provide hot meals weekly on Saturday to the underserved community till they would be able to be on their feet again. The B40s, ingenious (orang asli), migrant workers, refugees.

You can give by cooking, baking, or contributing food for the food bank!

Monthly we hold a drive-thru Farmers Market for the clients at Elko F.I.S.H. It takes several individuals to facilitate this event so volunteers are always welcome. The event is held from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. monthly, call for the specific date as it's usually the 4th Thursday of each month. Please call (775)738-3038, Food Bank for further information.

Every 1st and 3rd Thursday of every month, ReDefiners serves its community in Tampa Florida with free food distributions. Partnering with Simple Healthcare, we provide free, healthy food for families and seniors in need. A great part of our mission is to be there to help our neighbors and lovely community in Florida, not only to provide food but to hold meaningful relations with our people and better understand their needs.

We don't require any specific income or pre-qualifications to participate. Participants are only required to stay in their vehicles, while volunteers place the food in the trunk of their cars to avoid unnecessary contact due to Covid. All food distributions are drive-through only.

ReDefiners serves more than two hundred families every month.

We invite every Floridan family to participate, to receive help or to give back by volunteering their time.

Opportunity Details

We will be serving 100 families that will have pre-registered for a Thanksgiving box that will include a turkey and sides. The food distribution is from 10am - 2pm and we need volunteers from 8:30am - 2:30pm but you do not have to stay the whole time. Duties will be helping to unload food/produce from the truck, packing boxes and loading cars.

Hunger can happen to anyone, anywhere, at any time. In Waterloo Region, 1 in 20 households access food assistance, including, emergency hamper programs, community centres, outreach, community meals and shelter and residential services.

Accessing emergency food assistance looks different for everyone; for some it means bridging the gap between paycheques, a safety net to help them during a sudden job loss or unexpected change, and for others, it is literally a lifesaver.

Hosting a Food & Fund Drive is a great opportunity to have a big impact, make a difference, and of course to have some fun!

You might be wondering how you can have the biggest impact, by donating food or funds? Both food and funds are important to our work at The Food Bank:

Financial donations help keep our freezers and coolers operating, support the development and expansion of food support programs, such as the Mobile Pantry, assist in purchasing any food items needed to fill gaps in our inventory and meet the community diverse needs, and keep our delivery vehicles on the road!
Remember $10 can provide 30 healthy meals!

Each Thursday from 10-2, various roles are available to serve for approximately two hours each time:

Pre-Order Prep Team: 10 a.m. -12 p.m. preparing boxes from phone text requests
Meat Team: 12-2 p.m. providing frozen meat for orders at pickup
Service Specialists: 12-2:30 p.m. receiving clients and providing prepared boxes
Walk Up Box Prep Team: 12-2:30 p.m. preparing boxes for walk-up clients
