Looking to combat hunger in Harford County? The EPICENTER at Edgewood is seeking volunteers for our January Health Fair & Food Giveaway on Friday, January 11.

Each month, The EPICENTER hosts a Health Fair & Food Giveaway, through which we give away fresh food to Harford County citizens in need. We also invite a broad spectrum of community organizations to share health, financial, employment, and other types of resources with guests.

Volunteers may help with any of the following tasks while serving: setting up before the Food Giveaway, sorting food, bagging food, giving food bags to guests, or cleaning up after the event. Additionally, if you speak Spanish, we could always use help translating for Spanish-speaking guests (though Spanish skills are by no means required).

If you are in need of food, we welcome you to obtain food while you work. We also encourage you to share this event on social media, in your offices, or with anyone you know who may benefit.

Every year thousands of Hoosier families have food to eat because of our gracious and compassionate volunteers. Because of their generously-given time and effort, we are able to collect and distribute more than 2 million pounds of food each month. We couldn’t do what we do for hungry Hoosiers without your help.

We're Open!
If you haven't already signed up to volunteer in our on-site food pantry, now is the perfect time! The National Guard's last day was September 30th and we are now relying solely on volunteers to staff our food pantry distribution.

Volunteers will help load food into cars as they come through the drive-thru. Typical food items being distributed are: milk, eggs, cheese, butter, fresh produce, frozen meat, and pre-packed boxes of food weighing up to 30 pounds. Volunteers are also needed for traffic control.

30 volunteers are needed each shift.

Who can help?
Individuals, ages 18+, and groups of up to 20 volunteers.
Individuals can view shifts and register directly here: https://www.gleaners.org/get-involved/volunteer/ . Have a group? Let us know and we'll send you available dates and times.
