Jewish Food and Art Festival will take place on Sunday, May 19 from 11 am - 5pm. We will feature Jewish food for sale, Jewish Artists selling their pieces of original art, Jewish music, and a kids entertainment area. We will hold a raffle during this time as well and will be raising money to support the Jewish family service food pantry which services the entire community. This event serves as an outreach initiative for our community and we are looking for volunteers to help run the day.Available Shifts

Opportunity Details
Help us set up and facilitate our food distribution at Cedarcrest Church. Event set-up is from 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm and the distribution is from 4:30 pm to 7:30 pm. Feel free to come for any 3-hour period between 12 and 7:30 pm and we welcome volunteers to stay for the entire evening. We will be unloading and sorting food, serving soup and sandwiches, and distributing a week's worth of groceries to approximately 200 families in need. Be sure to wear comfortable clothes and close-toe shoes. We look forward to serving with you!

Our volunteers are our life line to the community. Volunteers stock, organize our food pantry and stock, hang clothes in our clothing store. We also rely on them to be here to monitor the clients and talk with them. We also have volunteers that deliver furniture to those in need. We LOVE our volunteers and need you too!

We are raising funds for the renovation of the North Buffalo Food Pantry by hosting a Pancake Brunch. This Food Pantry helps to feed 50 households a month. The new space is more accessible and will better fit the needs of both the clients and the pantry volunteers.We are in need of volunteers to help make pancakes, help with serving, run kid games, assist with community easter egg hunt, and more! You may choose how you would like to assist.

Are you passionate about helping to alleviate hunger? The St. Vincent de Paul Meal Program is depended upon by children and adults who are hungry and in need of an evening meal. The majority of people who eat at our sites report that they would not have access to a meal if our program didn't exist. Our sites are volunteer-run and you can make the difference! We serve meals nightly Sunday-Friday, but have a particularly difficult time finding volunteers on Sunday nights. Please consider helping to serve hungry children and adults their dinner on Sunday!Volunteers are needed any time after 3pm and the meal is served from 5:30-6:15pm.

Food distribution and thrift center days (Tuesdays and Saturdays) and as needed to support the food pantry and thrift center operations. Coordinate volunteers across the food pantry operation and help in the thrift center as needed. Arrive 1 hour before the center opens get food and groceries ready for distribution. Opportunity Details
Howard County Food Bank's Community Garden grows organic produce that is then distributed to the families who shop at the HoCo Food Bank. At the garden volunteers have the opportunity to plant seeds, weed, harvest produce, and other fun projects. This is a great opportunity for volunteers who enjoy the outdoors and want to give back. This opportunity can host up to 10 volunteers. Volunteers between the age of 10 and 15 must come with a parent.
