Benjamin E Jones Community Resource Center (BEJCRC), Feed My Sheep food program provides thousands of boxes of food which are delivered to residents in various low income and affordable housing complexes and homeless encampments throughout the Inland Empire. BEJCRC Feed My Sheep Food program also distributes and delivers food boxes and durable goods to low-income students at CSUSB. We provide access to healthy and nutritious food choices and food security to all those in need.
Access to healthy food is critical. Limited access to adequate food is associated with poor health and higher odds of chronic illness. It also has a huge impact on mental illness.

Volunteers are needed to help make companion calls to our homebound neighbors!

Companion Calls are opportunities to check in with FeedMore WNY's home-delivered meal clients to ensure they are staying well, and to provide them with a friendly conversation. Many of FeedMore WNY's clients live on their own and are fairly isolated, and these phone calls help to combat that isolation and provide our homebound neighbors with some socialization.

Volunteers must be 18 or older to participate in this opportunity, and will be required to come into the Holt Street office to make these phone calls. Training will be provided onsite at the beginning of the shift.

The health and safety of our volunteers are top priorities. To ensure that we are keeping all of our volunteers safe we are asking anyone who has recently tested positive for COVID-19, or who is symptomatic to please stay home for the recommended five day period or until symptoms subside. As well as we ask that if you were recently exposed to someone with a suspected or confirmed case of COVID-19 and you are unvaccinated, or vaccinated and showing symptoms, that you stay home for the recommended five days and please reschedule your volunteer shift.

We are grateful for your support!

Serve and love one another – a great way to do this is by delivering a hot meal to our frailest neighbors. You and your team can host a route once a week, taking turns with who delivers each week (once a month opportunities to deliver are also available). For instance, your team can delivery route 5 every Tuesday, and depending on how many team members you have, some folks may only deliver once every couple months.

Routes typically take less than one hour to complete and can be picked up at Fresh meals On Wheels on Taylor Drive at 11:10 a.m. Contact Meals On Wheels at 451-7011 for more information.

Hike for Hunger #HikeforHungerWY is an outdoor adventure event that raises awareness of hunger and food insecurity in Wyoming. Hike for Hunger will be held at Hynds Lodge & Amphitheatre and it will feature outdoor fun, food, music, fall family photos and more for the whole family! This event takes will include two guided hikes through the beautiful trails of the Medicine Bow National Forest on a 1/2 mile loop trail called the Beaver Creek Trail.

The volunteer opportunities are helping with set-up, registration, serving food, helping with children's actives, seating those who need help with the handicap access, clean up, and more.

This event is important because the cost of food has risen significantly and many of our clients cannot afford to eat. In the last four months we have gone from serving over 6,000 meals a month to now over 8,000 meals a month and the number of clients continues to climb. With that, the cost of feeding our wonderful clients has also risen and we are spend on average about $35,000 a month. We would so appreciate your support and help as we continue our mission of delivering MORE than a meal to hundreds of Laramie County residents every day!
