At Lifelong our mission is to “…empower people living with or at risk of HIV and/or other chronic conditions to live healthier lives.” Lifelong has robust client management and support programs for housing, medical, wellness, dental, aging and disability client + sexual health education and prevention for both adults and youth. And through it all, the heart of our organization since its start 35 years ago, has been our Chicken Soup Brigade (CSB) program.Every week our CSB Client Care Advocates, Nutritionists, Chefs and Cooks, Warehouse and Distribution staff and 200+ regular weekly Volunteers work together to make, package, bag and deliver 700-800 nutritionally specific meals for clients in the greater Seattle metro area living with HIV/AIDS and other chronic health conditions.
Kitchen Helpers assist our chefs with food prep and meal packaging. This is an opportunity to work in a team with fantastic people and do something very important for the community.
COVID-19 Precautions: Our volunteer sessions are fun, rewarding, and inclusive! However, we do have a few guidelines in place to ensure everyone's safety and success. Lifelong is always dedicated to keeping our volunteers and clients as safe as possible. During the Coronavirus pandemic, all volunteers are asked to wear appropriate face coverings, wash hands frequently, and stay at home if they or a family member isn't feeling well. We have also included additional safety measures to ensure proper social distancing.
