There is currently a Humanitarian Crisis of Homelessness and Hunger in our communities.

Did you know that people experiencing homelessness often suffer nutritional deficiencies, malnutrition, and painful dental decay?
Are you wondering how you could contribute individually to relieve some of that pain caused by food insecurity within our neighborhoods?
Would you be inspired to help A Meal with Dignity make and hand deliver fresh and sustainable meals to our community members who are currently experiencing homelessness?

We are A Meal with Dignity, A grassroots San Francisco nonprofit whose mission is to inspire everyone to feed our neighbors currently experiencing homelessness with dignity. We personally nourish our unsheltered neighbors by hand-delivering, fresh & nutritious bagged lunches within our communities with face-to-face connections wherever we see someone who may be experiencing hunger. We are halfway to our goal of 2,000 meals by the end of the year - 1,068 down and 932 meals to go! We need your help to get there!

We invite you to join us virtually every last Saturday of the month, as a Meal-Making Host Representative. In doing so, you are able to have a unique opportunity to create a relevant and meaningful community impact on all those affected by homelessness, housed and unhoused.

Each month you will gather your friends, family, and supplies to build the nutritionally focused AMWD meal, created by our team health advisor Dr. Adrian Aurrecoechea. The meal kit was designed with providing a sense of elevated dignity, nutritional deficiencies, and dental decay in mind, to nourish the most beneficial meals possible to the members of our community who need them the most.

After the meal has been assembled, you and your team will get your "boots on the ground" and participate in the face-to-face delivery that AMWD is known for.

We encourage you to connect with your delivery group after administering the strengthening and healing meals to the community to talk about what inspired each of them to help, what the experience was like for them, and what lasting impact it had on them.

Interested in making a difference? Respond to this posting or email me here at: Katy@amealwithdignity.org , I can answer any questions and get you started!

Our 501c3 non-profit organization has been featured in over 300 media outlets nationally over the last year. We provide free lawn care to elderly and other people who need it through our volunteer network. In order to build on this momentum, feedback received from peers suggests exploring the option of opening a for-profit division catering to landscapers for people who have the means -- which can contribute towards growing the non-profit still as the central focus?

Just looking to explore the idea and if it's worth the effort. Weigh pros and cons, Steps required, etc.

Do you have a flexible work schedule or early morning weekday availability? Would you like to volunteer with an organization making a difference in the lives of seniors and individuals with disabilities?

Join us as a Volunteer Shopper with Help At Your Door!

In this role you will work to fill grocery orders for Help At Your Door clients. Orders are printed and ready for our shoppers on weekday mornings starting at about 6:00 a.m. Volunteer shoppers take the lists and walk through the stores, finding the items and filling the grocery carts. Volunteers help double-check each cart, assist with the check-out process, and help pack the groceries into totes to be ready for delivery. Shoppers do not pay for or deliver the groceries themselves.

Shopping shifts typically last 3 hours; and shoppers can sign up to help on a weekly or bi-weekly basis. Volunteers can work with a family member or friend. Volunteers must have weekday early morning availability to assist with this role.

Help At Your Door has been serving seniors in the Twin Cities for more than 35 years. Due to the pandemic, our grocery shopping and delivery service is more needed than ever.

The Food Truck Cup is an outdoor festival that not only showcases food trucks, but local craft beverages and live music too. It is our big annual fundraiser, which directly supports the important hunger relief work we do all year round. We weren't able to do it last year, so we're very excited for its return this year!

We are specifically seeking volunteers that can help with site set up and/or take down. All volunteers will be given general admission access to the event.
