PFB was founded to ensure that every individual and family exiting homelessness in our community has the items needed to make a house feel like home.


Volunteer at the Philadelphia Furniture Bank, a program of Pathways to Housing PA. The Furniture Bank collects gentled used furniture and provides it to individuals and families coming out of homelessness and shelters.

At the Philadelphia Furniture Bank, we need support from warehouse volunteers. The Philadelphia Furniture Bank is open for individual or group volunteers Monday through Thursday from 10:00am-3:30pm. Volunteer shifts are four hours long and volunteers must be at least 18 years of age.

Volunteering at the Furniture Bank is an excellent opportunity for Philadelphia area businesses or organizations looking to donate their time for a day of service or experience team building on a whole new level.

Tasks would include:

Acting as a personal shopper to help participants choose their new furniture
Assisting with donation pickups and furniture deliveries
Assembling, painting, or repairing furniture
Administrative work and data entry

Salem Christian Homes is a 501 c3 non-profit organization with a mission to offer residential care and training for individuals who have developmental disabilities. We strive to enhance the quality of life of those we serve by assisting and encouraging each resident to achieve his or her optimal functional level. Join us for our 10th Annual Run, Walk & Roll for Individualism on July 7th, 2018, where proceeds from the event will support our ongoing mission to enhance the lives of our 110 residents. This year, we will continue to inspire independence and individualism for not only our residents but for anyone who desires the freedom to express who they are. The Kings Tulare Homeless Alliance's mission is to coordinate and leverage policy and resources that empower community partners to address homelessness in Kings and Tulare County. We fulfill our mission in a couple of different ways. Our Housing Navigators are out in the community every day working with people experiencing homelessness and one small thing we can provide are hygiene kits. Packages of toothpaste, shampoo, combs, etc. make a huge difference in the lives of people experiencing homelessness in our communities. Please help us create these hygiene kits for our neediest neighbors!

Help beautify the gardens at the Dr. Peter Centre while also helping Centre staff and volunteers make the garden more resilient towards summer drought. This outdoor task involves pulling weeds, planting flowers and greenery, spreading mulch, digging in the dirt and getting your hands dirty!

Please wear clothing that can get dirty, bring heavy duty gardening gloves if you have some (or we will provide them), and wear a hat for sun or rain.

Our goal is to raise at least $7,000 for our youth programs. Harkins Theatre has partnered with YouthHope and offered to do a movie fundraiser to show their love and support for our youth that we serve. The funds raised at this event will go directly to our youth programs to help youth move off the streets and exit the street life successfully. 100% of all the proceeds benefit YouthHope. Volunteers are needed to help welcome and assists guest to their seats, help with registration and check in as well as sell and collect raffle tickets during the entirety of the event. After the event ends we are asking for assistance with thanking guest for coming and the take down of the event.

YouthHope Foundation is planning our 5th Annual, “A Day in the Park” Car Show & Family Fun Extravaganza, to help raise funds for our Youth Programs. The event will be held September 8, 2018 at Sylvan Park in Redlands, CA. We will have a variety of cars shown, a kids carnival area, food and craft vendors, opportunity baskets, silent auction items and fun activities for the whole family. The funds raised at this event will be used to support our Youth Programs.
Volunteers would be helping in the Kid's Carnival Area, running games, showing participants how to play each game as well as collecting tickets and ensuring a fun, safe environment for participants.
