YouthLink is in dire need of socks and underwear for young people ages 16-24 experiencing homelessness. YouthLink gives out NEW socks and underwear (adult sizes XS-2XL) to young people at our drop-in center in downtown Minneapolis.Consider hosting a donation drive with your company, faith-based group, or other group.
Items can be shipped directly to YouthLink or dropped off at 41 N 12th St. Minneapolis, MN 55403 during our donation hours. Please reach out to donations@youthlinkmn.org with questions.

YouthLink is currently accepting applications for the Young Professionals Board.Are you a young professional looking to make a difference in our community? Are you passionate about preventing and ending youth homelessness in the Twin Cities? Are you looking to gain nonprofit board experience and expand your network? Then YouthLink's Young Professionals Board (YPB) may be for you!
Purpose of the Young Professionals Board:
The YPB's mission is to create avenues for young professionals to more deeply engage with YouthLink through volunteerism, fundraising, networking, and community engagement. YPB members advocate and increase awareness for the issues faced by young people experiencing homelessness among their peers. The YPB typically hosts one or two fundraisers per year with an annual fundraising goal of $5,000.
Who makes up the Young Professionals Board?
YPB members come from a wide variety of industries and job functions, including (but not limited to) health care, technology, social services, and law. Members must be 21 years old. Joining the YPB will give you insight and experience into what it is like to be on a nonprofit board. Applicants should show a commitment to diversity, equity, justice, and inclusion. YouthLink's YPB strives to have a diverse membership when it comes to cultural background, race, ethnicity, gender expression, sexuality, ability, socioeconomic status, and life experiences.
Commitment & Terms:
The YPB meets monthly. Members should plan on attending 9 out of 11 scheduled meetings each year. The current board has been meeting virtually on Thursday evening from 5 PM- 6PM. Members are expected to volunteer time outside of the monthly meetings as well; for example, to fulfill work related to fundraisers or special projects. Members are appointed to a two-year term. Each member may have their term extended for one additional year.

YouthLink works with youth, ages 16-24, who are experiencing homelessness. We are located in downtown Minneapolis and serve youth across the Twin Cities. YouthLink has more than 45 years of experience connecting young people with a community of resources and support. Whether it’s basic needs, like a shower or a hot meal, assistance with employment or educational goals, accessing mental and physical health resources, or finding supportive housing, we can help young people at all stages of their journey.

YouthLink is a nonprofit in Minneapolis that helps young people ages 16-24 experiencing homelessness in the Twin Cities metro.We are seeking friendly, organized, and patient volunteers to sort donations and restock our toiletries & clothing closets. Volunteers will help create a dignified retail space for youth to pick out clothes, shoes, hygiene products and baby items. You create a welcoming space for youth, and we are grateful!
Your tasks:
- Sort through clothing, toiletries, and other donations and organize by size, style, type, etc.
- Restock clothing closet, toiletry closet, and childcare areas.
- Maintain space cleanliness
- Throw away or recycle trash items (ripped/stained, broken hangers, cardboard boxes).
- Repackage & label diapers into sets of 10.
- At times, periodically interact with young people and help them pick out items.
Physical Requirements: Moderate lifting, repetitive motions, bending, and standing for prolonged periods of time. Reach out to Volunteer Manager to discuss possible accommodations.
Group size: Max group size is up to 10 people.
Shifts: Shifts are currently available Tuesday, Wednesdays, and Thursdays between 9 AM and 4:30 PM.

Most individuals facing eviction are not represented at their eviction hearing, which often results in unfair outcomes. That is why SALSA’s Housing and Homelessness Program is at Justice of the Peace Court 1 every Tuesday and Thursday to assist tenants who have received an eviction judgment understand their rights and obligations moving forward, including their right to appeal the eviction judgment and the appeal process.Thursdays, 8AM–5PM, explain the appeal process and discuss tenants’ options and community resources that may be available to them.

ASSISTING TENANTS WITH OTHER RESIDENTIAL TENANCY ISSUES
Tenants face a wide variety of issues that cause them financial strain and threaten their ability to life safely and securely in their home. Volunteer attorneys can assist clients on a variety of topics including obtaining security deposits withheld by landlords after move-out, challenging illegal late fees, assisting tenants’ with their attempts to require landlords to meet their repair and maintenance obligations, and lease termination.

Our Hope Connection Center is home to our community closet, a vital resource open five days a week to serve those in need. Our community closet holds the donations so kindly given to us by a number of individuals across Connecticut. In this closet, clients are able to obtain needed items from t-shirts and shoes to blankets and needed toiletries. Volunteers will help to make a significant impact by sorting, cleaning, and thoughtfully displaying donations that bring hope and dignity to our neighbors. Our community closet is primarily run by volunteers and is a great way to directly interact with our clients and other members of the community.Opportunity Details
Our Tomasso Family Community Kitchen serves between 150-200 people a day depending on the time of the month. We have two hard-working staff members in our kitchen, but it's really with the help of volunteers that we can serve this number of people for three meals a day, seven days a week. Volunteers of our community kitchen helps to provide food to our clients and the greater community through a number of different tasks - either cutting and prepping ingredients, helping to keep our kitchen clean, organizing our pantry, or serving food to our clients and community members. We really appreciate the help of all our current volunteers, we wouldn't be able to serve truly quality meals without your help!
