Each time a new resident moves into one of our permanent supportive housing locations, they receive a “Move In Kit” that provides essentials needed to get started. These items include things like towels, bedding, dishes, cookware, etc. Volunteers will be creating handmade cards welcoming a resident to their new home using art supplies, creativity, and special messages they would like to share to include with these kits.*** We also have a special coloring page to complete and welcome residents specifically to our newest permanent supportive housing location, Burbridge Place. This site will open in December and these "Welcome Home" coloring pages will be displayed in the lobby and inside individual apartments to welcome these new residents home from homelessness!
This activity can be done at a DESC location or we can come to you at your local office or other space. Total time frame can range from 1 - 3 hours in length. If hosted at DESC location, we can typically accommodate 10 - 20 volunteers. If hosted elsewhere, a minimum of 10 volunteers is preferred and max would depend on your space.
Reach out to coordinate time, date, and location.
