Join the American Spirit Alliance as it unites the community revive dormant history while having fun, enjoying food, music, vendors and entertainers!
Help us organize the flag planting and/or relay race. We need volunteers that will help us:
* Register flag planters & distribute supplies the day of events
* Recruit running teams prior to events
* Recruit business sponsors prior to events
* Recruit & Organize the runner's trail day of event
* Get medical sponsors that can be there in case needed the day of event
* Marketing & Administration positions available.
* We're also looking for volunteer performers!
* Guests are allowed to attend with our volunteers and the minimum age is to volunteer is 14 unless they're performing.

Opportunity Details

Jesse Tree is seeking volunteers to answer phone calls and handle walk-ins from prospective clients experiencing a housing crisis. Our volunteers serve as our front-lines in making sure our neighbors being evicted receive needed information and assistance to stay housed.

Responsibilities
- Be the first friendly, helpful face our clients see
- Answer the phone for clients calling in, and greet clients who walk into our office
- Assist clients with answering a series of screening questions, and help them gather required documentation for our program
- Check our voice messages and return calls and emails
- Refer clients to other needed community programs and resources - whatever it takes to keep them housed
- Track client phone calls using our internal tracking system
- Assist with general office duties, making copies, mailings for donations and events, and thank you letters

Expectations
- Be a consistent presence in the office for a 2-3 hour time block, for either 1-2 days a week, or 1 day every other week (4-24 hours/month)
- Be a friendly problem-solver
- Remain committed to keeping our clients’ information confidential
- You will be required to attend a Volunteer Orientation, and staff will provide you with the support you need throughout your time with us
- Bilingual volunteers would be very helpful!
- 18 years and older
- Dress code is business casual

BPDC is out to bring positive change to our community by providing education and access to health care for vulnerable or underprivileged children, entrepreneurial training for youths, and poor families start small businesses to earn living. When a jobless youth secures employment or a girl child is educated; those are the moments that make the long hours all worth it.
BPDC’s vision is that through our programs and services, there will no longer be any poor youth in Ghana. Our child education program is a key part of making sure that the goal comes to fruition.

WAIM provides basic needs and support to area residents who have insufficient income. We offer special assistance programs, clothing, household goods, furniture, appliances, and more. This allows our clients to use their scant resources to make ends meet, and become more self-sufficient. We need help organizing our warehouse facility to improve goods selection. We want people to easily find what they need and we want to showcase overstocked goods. We are also looking for someone with experience in developing, implementing, and maintaining inventory management systems, although that's not required for this time.

We cordially invite you to participate as a volunteer for Arc Run 2019! The event will raise money for MidState Arc's community based services to benefit people with developmental disabilities and their families.

The event will be held Saturday, September, 28, 2019 at 200 Research Parkway in Meriden, CT (the agency's main office location). The 10K will kick off at 9:15 am, followed by the 5K at 9:30 am. This is a USA Track & Field certified run/walk. The amount of time you volunteer is for you to decide. Volunteers are needed from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm, depending on the volunteer station. All volunteers are expected to attend a pre-race meeting September 19th at 6:00 pm at 200 Research Parkway in Meriden, CT. A light dinner will be provided.

All volunteers will be paired with agency staff. Your assistance would help MidState Arc make this a successful event. Your support will go a long way in promoting a sixty-seven year long proud tradition of services for individuals with developmental disabilities and their families.

This is our signature fundraising dinner and celebration that supports our ongoing programs for displaced and homeless families. It is held at Sullivan Hall (behind Sacred Heart Church in Fleming Island) and up to 300 local leaders are in attendance, with dinner from a variety of local restaurants, a live and silent auction, music and testimonies of the impact that Mercy has on the Clay Community.
