Opportunity Details

This annual event provides free backpacks, school supplies and clothing to children in need from across Marquette County. The purpose of this event is to ease the financial burden for families as they prepare their children for going back to school. Our goal is to provide over 500 children in need with quality backpacks, school supplies and clothing before the start of a new school year. Parents & guardians also have the opportunity to receive new clothing. Over the past 5 years alone we have provided these items for almost 2100 children. Through our 2018 event, 515 children were assisted. Volunteer opportunities are available with the distribution of clothing, backpack and school supply. Opportunities to host/help families as they walk through each distribution area is also available

The Children’s Advocacy Center of DeKalb County (CAC) is hosting the 2019 Annual Walk to End Child Abuse on April 27, 2019 starting at 9:00-2pm at the Sycamore High School Field House. The purpose of this walk is to bring awareness to our community about the realities of child abuse and raise the funds to assist with both prevention efforts and our current child abuse cases here in DeKalb County. As a nonprofit organization we value all the support we receive from our local community. Thus, I would like to respectfully ask for volunteers to assist on the day of the actual event on 4/27 at the Sycamore High School Fieldhouse from 9am-12:00pm.

**Volunteers will receive a FREE T-shirt and complementary breakfast! :)

Come join Nasdaq, Crown Castle Fiber, Ciena, CenturyLink, Verizon, and others in a 16 team, single game elimination WIFFLE Ball tournament and home run derby. We'll provide official WIFFLE bats and balls, but feel free to bring your own customized WIFFLE Ball bat. We'll provide breakfast, lunch, and the after party – well, that’s still a secret!

We have been fortunate to have teams from Kohl's participate as volunteers for the last 5 years and are looking forward to you participating again!

Opportunity Details

We will be repackaging diapers in order to distribute 70,000 diapers to our agencies for April. The diapers will be in boxes and need to be repackaged into groups of 20 with a label and packed per agency's request. This allows for our partnering agencies (located in the tri-city area) to give 60 diapers per child and ultimately help over 1000 babies in need on a monthly basis.
