“An estimated 13.5 million children in this country, or approximately 20% of U.S. children under age 18 years of age, have a special health care need” (National Survey of Children’s Health. (2020), leaving a lot of parents doubling as caregivers. Caring for oneself enables a parent to provide better care to the children who depend on them. Night Lights provides valuable time away so that parents can refuel and nurture an overall sense of wellbeing.


Night Lights provides respite care to families who have children (ages 4 weeks - 12 years) with special needs and their siblings (also ages 4 weeks to 12 years) at no cost to the families. Thanks to the generosity of the community, Night Lights has provided over 67,000 hours of free respite care to families of children with special needs and their neuro-typical siblings over the last ten years, a service that would cost the state over $1.2 million if Colorado were to provide respite vouchers for every family that Night Lights serves.


The Childcare Volunteer stays with the child throughout the evening during each month’s program, taking them from one activity to another. The purpose of this position is to provide a one-on-one care position between the child and the volunteer. This volunteer is expected to interact with the child with excitement, love and respect. The Childcare Volunteer will document the events of the evening in the child’s file, as well as communicate with the Leadership Team regarding any concerns or questions they have about the child. The volunteers are trained and background checked. No experience necessary and this is not a therapy position of any sort. There is an onsite nurse to assist with all medical issues.

Its time to build the next generation of Friendship Park in Chelmsford. Come when you can to lend a hand. If you can't stay for a whole "shift" thats ok! If you forget to signup ahead of time, no problem, just show up on build day. Activities will include all aspects of playground construction including some pouring of concrete. We will be building playground structures and equipment from diagrams with the supervision of project managers. Register by May 28th to reserve your Community Build T-shirt. Opportunity Details

TBWH is going for the Guinnes Book of World Records for Collecting the most stuffed animals in a 24 hour period by a non profit on Sunday, September 9th, 2018 from 9am - 5 pm. We have partnered with Seaside PD and will be having a children's donation carnival in Seaside on that day. We need a LOT of volunteers to help with this endeavor. Role/Scope of Work: Manage the marketing and communications strategy for the organization as well as the branding message.

Skills needed/proficiency: Experience in marketing/communications and brand development. Strong communication skills as well as the ability to be creative in the development of a newly emerging marketing and communication strategy. This work requires advertising, marketing, public/media relations experience, project management, electronics communications, and graphics design skills and experience.

Other activities include developing new newsletter template, editing website, blogging strategy, developing brochures, and editing existing documents and materials.

United Way of Southern Kentucky established the Handbags for Hope fundraising event in 2014 as a way to bring women all over Southern Kentucky together for a night of fun that raises dollars for Kindergarten Readiness. During this silent and live auction of designer purses, women are treated to hors d'oeuvres, a cash bar and a selection of over 50 items to bid on throughout the evening. In its first four years, the event has raised more than $135,000 to help prepare children across the Barren River Area for kindergarten success! Nearly 50% of local children are not ready for Kindergarten on day one. Through your partnership with Handbags for Hope, you are supporting Early Childhood Education programs that will impact a child's most critical period of intellectual development from birth to five.
We are requesting you support in the form of volunteers to help with the event. The event captures an audience of over 400 people each year and provides a unique platform to increase funding for Kindergarten readiness. Over The Edge is an event to benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Capital Region. We invite the community to make a BIG difference this year by supporting Over The Edge!

Participants (Edgers) will rappel down Market Square Plaza, which is 18 floors, down onto 2nd Street on October 19th. "Edgers" will experience a new adventure like never before! "Edgers" are raising $1,000 individually for children facing adversity to receive a caring mentor to bring life-changing, positive impact.

This is an event fit for the entire family! Willamalane will host an outdoor event for the community of Lane County to enjoy, free of charge! 60 exhibitors will fill Island Park and offer fun activities and resources for families and children to enjoy. Volunteers aid in event set up, hands on activities with kids, info booth, face painting, inflatables, pony rides and so much more! The purpose of this event is to bring community spirit and unity to families of Lane County.
