Annunciation Maternity Home (AMH) is hosting its 16th Annual Benefit Gala! AMH provides housing, daycare, education, and parenting training to young mothers experiencing crisis pregnancies, and the Gala is our premiere fundraising event. We need volunteers on the afternoon of Thursday, May 10th to help us decorate tables, set up silent auction items, test audio-visual systems, and prepare for registration.

Marin Foster Care Association holds an annual picnic for the 100+ kids in the Marin foster system, their caregivers (aka foster families) and the social workers involved with the dependency system. It is intended to be a fun, community building event where the kids can just be kids for a day and enjoy sunshine, food and fun. We need volunteers to help make the event run smoothly and to enable our volunteer staff to enjoy our the day as well.

Volunteers help seed, cultivate and harvest over 20,000 harvest bins of fresh produce each season - we cannot do this work without your help.

Opportunity Details

Showtime is a jam-packed concert filled with music from every genre, from classical to country and patriotic to musical theatre. There is something for everyone to enjoy! This variety show showcases the individual and corporate talents of PCC's outstanding singers.

What we will need assistance with: Once the show begins on Sunday May 6th we begin "loading out" all of the costume pieces as well as the props during intermission. The specifics of what the volunteers will be doing is: lifting and carrying clothes racks, and boxes onto our truck at the theater once the truck is filled it will head to our costume warehouse. The load out at the Saenger Theater will begin at 3:30pm.

The load out at the Costume Warehouse will begin at 5:30, this will consist of off loading the truck and carrying clothes racks up two flights of stairs and into our costume rooms.

The Great Cake Race 5K/1M is Sweet Blessings' largest fundraiser of the year.
Here is a little bit about the The Great Cake Race4 5K/1 year:
Sunday, May 6th, 4pm start time, at Keeneland, volunteers arrive earlier
5K/1M - participants may run or walk either distance
We will have bands, inflatables, a photo booth, ice cream and cupcakes
Awards will be given for age group and overall winners and in special stroller and canine divisions
Team awards will be given to the largest teams in each of 5 divisions: corporate, school, church, family and open.
The event benefits Sweet Blessings which creates unforgettable birthday cakes for children living in poverty, with a life threatening illness or special needs to help them feel special and loved on their special day.

Volunteers will assist with a wide variety of tasks including registration, water station and course management (cheering for participants and making sure they stay on course).
