Antelope Valley youth are in desperate need of caring adults like YOU!Be A Mentor is partnering with Lost Angels Children's Project to support struggling youth. This is an in-person volunteer mentoring program. You will spend time with your mentee in the community exploring goals, talking about issues, and learning how to support their needs.
1 on 1 mentoring gives students more opportunities for success regardless of their background. It’s especially important for youth who may not have consistent adults in their lives to connect with.
All mentors must be 21 or over and are required to complete a background check. Must have a driver's license and a reliable vehicle. And our mentoring coordinator will be available for support throughout the program. We ask that you commit to at least 2-hours per week for a one calendar year. Consistency is important to build trust between you and your mentee.
We welcome everyone with an interest in mentoring to sign up!

With a commitment of just 2 hours a week, you can help a child thrive. Big Brothers Big Sisters of Toronto (BBBST) is seeking volunteers for our 1:1 community-based program. Here, we intentionally match a Little (age 7-16) with a Big (age 18+) based on mutual experiences and shared interests. We request a minimum volunteer commitment of 1 year from our mentors, but the transformative impact on our Littles can last a lifetime. Our mentoring services help foster confidence and resilience in youth as well as a desire to stay in school, avoid risky behaviors and give back to the local community.BBBST is also seeking volunteers for our Big G Mentoring program, which partners youth with individuals age 55+ to create a meaningful, intergenerational relationship. Please contact us to learn more.
Our professional staff is there to work with you, the child and their family throughout the course of the mentorship relationship to provide necessary training and support. We are grateful for your eagerness to be involved with BBBST and while it is certainly not a requirement, we welcome you to also become a donor – as you volunteer or wait to be matched.

BTL is a California-based Non-profit 501(c)(3) humanitarian organization that has helped sponsor underprivileged children with Heart Surgeries. Our mission is to ensure that every child with congenital heart disease has access to the necessary medical care to live a healthy and happy life.Since 2015 we have helped sponsor 125+ Heart surgeries for underprivileged children with the help of generous donors who believe in this cause. Bloom To Life has tied up with the best hospitals and top Pediatric Cardiology surgeons in India to do these heart surgeries.
Almost 1.4 million children are born worldwide yearly with Congenital heart defects or CHD. In India alone, 250K children with CHD die yearly due to lack of access to care. It costs around $3,000 per child for pediatric heart surgery in India. Currently, we have 200+ children waiting for urgent heart surgeries with a total funding requirement of $600,000. We can impact these children's lives during Giving Tuesday and other season-giving programs at your company.
Pediatric cardiac heart surgeries are incredibly complex and carry a much higher risk than any other operation. Most children who undergo treatment for heart defects during early life lead healthy and productive lives, going to university, finding employment, getting married, and having children of their own, thereby contributing to the well-being of their families and society. Timely detection and treatment are the critical determinants of outcomes in these children, and funding is often the main roadblock in this process.
Our Medical Advisory Board consists of Eminent doctors from India, Columbia University, University of Washington, Stanford Children's Hospital, UCSF, Oregon Health and Science University.
In Bloom To Life, we believe we are privileged to see a child's life transformed and make a difference in the families. This service opportunity truly blesses us.
