The purpose of this event is to create birthday party hats for children in need. Birthday
Dreams, located in Renton, WA, provides a “Birthday in a Box” for children whose families would otherwise not be able to support a party. Your team would cut out hats from provided templates, decorate them, then return them to Birthday Dreams for assembly and distribution to upcoming birthday parties for children.
Funding is appreciated but not required.
Our projects are completed best at Microsoft with Birthday Dreams Support.
Each hat takes approximately 10 minutes to make.
There is no limit to how many times this event can take place.
At least 5 volunteers are required with a maximum of 150.

Support Mary’s Place by amplifying our social media presence! Follow us on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and LinkedIn, then show your love by sharing our page or website with your network. You can then share one of our posts, retweet us, or even record a short message expressing your passion for Mary’s Place and tag friends! Social media is an important tool for us to engage new volunteers, donors, and partners, and having our followers spread the word is a quick and impactful way to support Mary’s Place.

This activity is repeatable, can be done virtually, and takes 15 minutes to complete. There is no funding required. Thank you for supporting us during 2023

Opportunity Details

Help to support our families at Mary’s Place by purchasing supplies and assembling kits for us to hand out. Kit assembly and donation to Mary’s Place functions as both a donation of supplies and volunteer time. Examples of kits include Kids Snack Packs, Baby's Best Start Bags, Welcome Home Baskets, and more! Please plan to coordinate drop off or shipping of supplies with Mary’s Place.

This activity is repeatable, can be done remotely, and takes 30-60 minutes to complete. Funding requirements vary depending on the type of kit and the number of participants.

At the band shell area Pumpkin Palooza is a Free open to the families in the community. Assists needed with set up and event. Set up - 100 pumpkins, decorating pumpkin area, hot cider area, photo booth, give away bags, set up mask table, information table, suppling bathroom, ground pick up.
Event - assist with decorating pumpkins with children, hot cider in the Tiki hut, directing parking, greeter at entrances and direct to activities, bathroom attendant, information booth, bag give away and much more. Come and have fun with us at Pumpkin Palooza

Opportunity Details

Volunteer tutors are needed in Dublin on Monday-Thursday from 3 pm-5 pm.

Help to ensure youth in our after-school program are positively engaged and invested in their learning and enrichment activities, as well as to have positive relations with adults, and improve their math and reading skills.

Duties:

Commit to a weekly volunteer shift
Help elementary/middle school youth with homework
Support staff with enrichment activities
Be a positive example and role model to the young people in our program
Act as a resource and guide, help the youth learn how to find resources and information
Work closely with Eden staff and report on any issues or get support when needed
Skills needed:

Excellent elementary/middle school level reading and math skills
Previous teaching or tutoring experience is preferred but not required
Must have excellent interpersonal skills and a positive personality and demeanor
Benefit:

Volunteer Tutors will gain insight into the life of a young person, an increase in their own skills and training, as well as the reward and satisfaction that comes from helping a young person excel academically and gain more confidence.

Time commitment:

Tutors will work within Eden’s after-school programs and must commit to one shift per week for at least four months. This program meets Monday-Thursday from 3 pm-5 pm.

All volunteers must show proof of vaccination to volunteer.

“Antyodoy Anath Ashram” is an orphanage established in 1995 at the village of Paunsi, East Medinipur, West Bengal

It is a fascinating story of a great journey, initiated by one single person, Sri Balaram Karan, an inhabitant of the village, who impulsively brought home an unfortunate orphan in a chilly evening, whom he found desperately searching for food from a garbage bin, at an adjacent locality.

The journey, which had started by saving one child, has culminated to today’s Antyodoy Anath Ashram, giving shelter to about 102 hapless children. Sri Karan did not spare any efforts during the last two decades to provide them a place, they can call home.

Opportunity Details

We are looking for volunteers to help with our ALS Chocolate Meltdown event. We need people to help set up, man stations and break down after the event.

The ALS Chocolate Meltdown is the premier event to support Hope Loves Company and the free programs and resources we provide for children and young adults whose lives have been touched by ALS. Guests will enjoy a plethora of delectable chocolate treats, candies, food, and drinks, all while taking in the beautiful scenery of the Adventure Aquarium Currents Ballroom and Shark Realm - think of it as trick-or-treating for adults! There will be an open bar, silent auction, and 50/50 raffle!

Hope Loves Company the only non profit in the US dedicated to supporting children whose loved ones have or have had ALS. ALS is a progressive neurological disease that causes damage to motor neurons and affects voluntary muscle movement. As the disease progresses, a person living with ALS will lose the ability to move, talk, swallow, and eventually breathe. Through Hope Loves Company we offer completely free camps across the country to children who most likely have never met another child experiencing this disease. We are the only non profit in the country with this specific mission to help these children who in addition to going to school and building friendships, also take on the role of being a caregiver.
