Lakeway CASA is proud to celebrate their 10th Anniversary of serving Hamblen and Jefferson Counties. In that time, they have served over 1,000 children who have experienced abuse or neglect. Lakeway CASA, is a locally run nonprofit whose mission it is to recruit, screen, train, and support volunteers dedicated to advocating for the needs of abused and neglected children in need of services or supervision.CASA volunteers advocate for their children, making sure they have what they need to heal from the abuse they’ve experienced and help to find them safe and loving homes. Lakeway CASA directly impacts the administration of justice for our most vulnerable citizens. CASA volunteers gather information about each child’s circumstances, focus on the safety and well-being of the child, and help keep the focus on the unique needs of the child. CASA is key to fulfilling society’s most fundamental obligation of ensuring those child victims of abuse and neglect can grow up in safe and nurturing homes where they can reach their full potential.
In honor of their 10 years of service, Lakeway CASA is hosting a “Light of Hope” Fundraising Gala featuring local author, life coach and blogger, Dr. Edie Wadsworth. The event will also feature the local band “Run for Cover” who will preform covers of music hits. The event will take place on Thursday, February 17th at 6pm at the First Presbyterian Church in Morristown. A buffet dinner will be served. Registration is free however a donation is appreciated. All proceeds raised will directly benefit a child in need by providing them a highly trained, compassionate volunteer who will consistently show up for that child until they are placed in a safe, permanent and loving home.

Our vision at Brands for Canada is to create a sustainable world where surplus goods are purposefully used to eliminate poverty and inequality. We achieve this by providing new donated clothing, personal care items and houseware items, at no cost, to those in need. In 2020, we were able to help more than 100,000 Canadians in need with clothing and basic needs items and divert over 331,000 lbs of items from the landfills.Brands for Canada receives 900,000 items annually and is in need of volunteer groups to assist with sorting, tagging, bagging, and packing care packs that include items such as clothing and personal care products. These items are distributed to clients living in poverty through our 100+ partner agencies and schools. This opportunity can be done in person at our warehouse facility or virtually via Zoom. This is a fun and practical way to help those in need. It is ideal for groups of people and a great team-building exercise.

The writing team is seeking 4 volunteers to write coherent, organized, and compelling proposals. The writing team will apply collaborative skills, knowledge, methods, and plans to reach program goals.

Essential Functions
Develops proposal by assembling information, including project nature, objectives/outcomes/deliverables, implementation, methods, timetable, staffing, budget, standards of performance, and evaluation.
Improves proposal-writing results by evaluating and re-designing processes, approach, coordination, and boilerplate.
Determines proposal concept by identifying and clarifying opportunities and needs, studying requests for proposal (RFPs), and attending strategy meetings.
Meets proposal deadline by establishing priorities and target dates for information gathering, writing, review, approval, and transmittal.
Writes, revises, and edits drafts, including executive summaries, conclusions, and organization credentials.
Maintains quality results by using templates; following proposal-writing standards, including readability, consistency, and tone; maintaining proposal support databases.

We do not have set hours per week.
We work off weekly check-ins. We expect you as a volunteer to manage your hours to meet check-ins.

Video editor for Social Media ShortsPURE is seeking a self-motivated individual to review rough footage and photographs captured in India, USA, Uganda and Kenya by our nonprofit organization and assemble short, high-quality videos for use on social media. Specific days and number of hours are flexible and can be negotiated based upon availability and schedule.
The Volunteer will be responsible for assembling recorded raw material and original photographs into finished products suitable for social media use. The aim of the videos would be to share our mission, accomplishments, and the daily lives of the students and people we work with in Uganda with our donors and followers. The ultimate goals would be to evoke emotion and awareness, which would turn into support (financially and otherwise) for our organization; and to produce quality material that would result in sharing of the clips to bring awareness of our organization to new audiences. Depending on skill-set, longer clips/short film development would also be welcomed. Photo editing skills are a bonus. The position would require the volunteer to:
Familiarize self with the mission, vision, and objectives of the organization to properly convey our message(s) to our target audience(s)
Input music, subtitles, graphics and effects
Create rough and final cuts in consultation with the CEO
Correct faulty footage, grading and coloring and add special effects
Requirements
Must be a self-starter, with a proven record of working independently
Proven work experience as a video editor
Experience with digital technology and editing software packages
Creative mind and storytelling skills
Marketing experience is a bonus
A keen eye for detail and a critical mind
Creativity and a passionate interest in film and video editing

The St. Louis Jewish Community Center (the J) is a multigenerational gathering place, offering a variety of programs and services for the St. Louis Jewish community and the community at large. They welcome people of all backgrounds and faiths. The J provides educational, cultural, social, Jewish identity-building, and recreational programming on its campuses in Creve Coeur, Chesterfield, and at Camp Sabra, located at the Lake of the Ozarks. The J is committed to helping St. Louis’ youngest learners experience new and exciting things every day. This is why the J offers a wide range of early childhood programs. Whether that be a structured learning environment in the J’s fully-accredited Early Childhood Centers or “together time” at the Family Center.Volunteers will help clean/sanitize the playground equipment and organize the outdoor shed.

We FEED our neighbors, TEACH self-sufficiency, GROW healthy foods, and CULTIVATE innovative approaches to end hunger.Hunger Relief activities include support to our well-known Backpack Buddies that served over 2,600 children last year and School Pantries maintained right inside 10 schools last year. Activities also include packing boxes of food for children and families throughout our services counties. Packing will be held at the Child Food Hub - 2436 S. Miami Blvd. Ste.200-9, Durham, NC 27703.
Volunteer (s) will form an assembly line that includes canned vegetables, fruit, pasta, beans, and rice. The number of boxes packed will vary based on various factors but can range between 20-30 boxes per hour. Volunteers will be assigned to certain task to complete the packing process.

With the activities of the Wielewaal we want to stimulate children and young adults with disabilities to go out in a group, build friendships and gain new experiences.As a foundation, Wielewaal is dependent on the efforts of volunteers who want to share the Wielewaal experience with us. Then join us and give the children an unforgettable day at a sleepover weekend or during the daycare in the school holidays at one of our locations in the Netherlands.
Together with a team of volunteers, a professional teamleader and, if necessary, a nurse, you attend a weekend stay. We work at several locations were we recieve different target groups, for example children and youngsters with autism or ADHD or groups where children have physical disabilities.
