Opportunity Details

In this opportunity, you can choose to engage in one or several of the following tasks.

Improve Save the Children Sweden’s YouTube Channel
To some extent, we use our YouTube channel as a storage place for material. We would love your support in coming up with ideas on how we can restructure the channel and work with it more effectively to increase the number of views and followers.

Estimated time required by each employee taking on this opportunity: 1-3 hours per employee, depending on your capacity and willingness to engage.
No limitation of numbers of engaging employees.

Improve YouTube channel for supporting Save the Children's grassroots movement
Save The Children Sweden has a national program with many different initiatives and concrete activities for children. A lot of this work is carried out by our grassroots movement, through local Save the Children associations around the country.
In the Skåne county alone, there are thirteen local Save the Children associations organized and run by volunteers.
Save the Children's Operations Development Officers offer technical, administrative and operative support to the local associations.

As part of our support to the local Save the Children associations, we have created a YouTube Channel called “Fråga din VU” ("Ask your Operations Development Officer").
This is a series of short YouTube clips where we answer questions that are important for the volunteers to have knowledge on.

We would like to get support in taking “Fråga din VU” to a next level in terms of editing tools, production but also in terms of engagement and promotion of all episodes.

This could be done through an initial workshop, when we explain our needs, followed by internal work on your end to come up with suggestions for improvements, and then in the end have a final workshop when you share your thoughts and ideas.

Fundraising on YouTube
We are interested in learning about how to best use YouTube as a channel to raise money for Save the Children Sweden.
A workshop together with you to learn if there's a specific tool, ad space or anything that other fundraising organizations use with great success, or share any other related advice would be greatly appreciated!

Improving Livestreaming on YouTube
We do live broadcasts on YouTube from our studio at Save the Children’s head quarter in Stockholm.
It could, for example, be one of Save the Children´s report releases on a specific topic that is important to spread.
We would love your support with tips and ideas on how we can become even better, get more viewers, increase the spread and commitment to the broadcast. Both before, during and after the live streaming event.

Estimated time required by each employee taking on this opportunity: 1-3 hours per employee, depending on your capacity and willingness to engage.
No limitation of numbers of engaging employees.

The suggested date and time for this opportunity will begin with a brief online meeting when you will get an introduction to the needs, followed by a session when you brainstorm together or on your own to help us come up with ideas to improve. In case you are not able to join the session that specific time, you are welcome to send us your thoughts separately.

The opportunity is to provide 400 krispie treats that can be distributed to the Kennedy students as a post-race treat.

This is the only major fundraiser of the year for Kennedy Elementary School. The money we raise is used to purchase educational software, new books, recess equipment, family -focused events throughout the year; ice cream socials, literacy night, family game night, and the Friendship Fling. We also help to minimize costs to families by sponsoring various field trips and special events for students.

The Kennedy PTO has valued your partnership for this event in the past and we hope to work with you going forward. Thank you for your consideration!

Hand in Hand Safe Place is a shelter that provides 72-hour emergency care for children initially entering the foster care system.

Safe Place creates a supportive environment for youth to transition smoothly into foster care and allows time for families to access resources needed for their children to return home. Additionally, placing children in our shelter provides social workers with additional time to locate a foster home that is well suited to meet each child’s needs.

Best Suited for People Who:
-Are passionate about providing direct care services and support to youth who may have experienced trauma.
-Embody compassion, dedication and hope and possess the ability to remain calm in stressful situations.
-Have evening/weekend availability

An estimated 500 children enter foster care in Snohomish County each year. Many of these children leave home late at night with just minutes to say goodbye to their families. They are loaded into a social worker’s car with only a hastily-packed garbage bag of their belongings in tow.

Before Safe Place, these children would ride in the back of that car, sometimes overnight, while their social worker made calls in hopes of finding them a safe place to stay.

Founded in 2010, Hand in Hand Safe Place was established by a group of foster parents in response to this exact situation – supporting children entering foster care at night and on weekends. It was the first program of its kind.
