Your name or logo can be front and center in the most heavily visited shopping district in the Valley for the twelve days before Christmas, reaching an estimated 400,000 shoppers. Best Friends of Neenah-Menasha empowers over 400 kids each year through the power of mentoring friendship and family support. Young people need a set of basic connections to help them through the challenges associated with growing up. Parents generally fill this need, but many children benefit from relationships with other adults to supplement or in some cases, substitute for relationships with their own caregivers.

• 80% of kids in our mentoring programs feel they are doing better in school
• 75% of kids in our mentoring programs develop a plan for after high school
• 78% of kids in our mentoring programs feel more prepared to resist negative peer pressure

The Lace Up Community Fundraiser raises support for two causes.
Locally, we will support Royal Family Kids Camp Hartland (www.hartland.royalfamilykids.org), which is a summer camp for children in the fostercare system who have affected by abuse, neglect, and abandonment.
Globally, we partner with Orphan Outreach(www.orphanoutreach .com) to support the Jelgava City Orphanage in Jelgava, Latvia.

The Owen County 4-H provides a fun holiday craft day to celebrate the holidays in December every year. This gives youth that attend a chance to wind down after school is let out and have some fun in the midst of all the hustle and bustle that accompanies the holiday season. We have several crafts to make along with some tasty treats such as cookies and fudge. This program is free and no cost is associated with any of these projects. It is estimated to have 20 youth attend this year.

Opportunity Details

This event is a fantastically fun one! Open to the public and their friendly pet dogs. Dia de los Perros includes food trucks, vendor booths, pet-related demonstrations, TONS of raffle prizes, music, family-friendly activities, and a trick-or-treat scavenger hunt for people and dogs!

This event is a fundraiser for Canine Angels Service Teams, a non-profit that provides highly-trained assistance dogs for children and young adults who have special needs. Dia de los Perros helps our program bring in much-needed funding, and share with the community what our amazing dogs can do to make lives better for special kiddos and their families.
