Help MetIncPowerCo celebrate GA STEM DAY 2018 at "2nd Annual Just Say YES! STEM FEST!" with Microsoft

This fun, educational, and STEM-packed day at Microsoft at Lenox Mall is just one additional way we transform everyday places into a Public Learning Classrooms!

For our 2nd Annual Just Say YES STEM FEST, we're inviting the community to this on-site hands-on and virtual learning experience, to have hands-on access to coding, app and digital device resources, 3-D maker software, Fresh Paint program via Surface tablets and resources. Fun for all ages and skill levels! This event is perfect for Pk-12 students, parents, K-12 educators, college students, and STEAM providers.

"Just Say YES! STEM FEST" is an annual event that launched on GA STEM DAY 2017 as part of Metamorphasis Powerhouse Company's Just Say YES! to Youth Initiative showcasing our Building E-STE(A)M For Youth Partnership Program.

Why digital skills?
From basic digital literacy to advanced computer science, digital skills are often out of reach for the young people who need them most. In a world being transformed by technology, all youth should have the opportunity to develop the creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills gained by learning computer science.

The focus of this event is to:

Reinforce growth mindset in young people and transition their thinking from "I CAN'T" into "I CAN" for STEM-related curriculum and careers

Help connect parents, educators and STEAM providers together to increase a capacity for a wider opportunity for partnership of resources and youth enrichment

Increase impact for the lives of children needing a deeper exploration of computer science, technology, engineering, the arts, mechanics, math, and medicine.

Serve the community in free open public spaces to increase the opportunities for fun learning environments for all people

Aspire to Inspire and help us Transform "I CAN'T" into "I CAN" for youth by serving as a volunteer, strategic partner, and STEAM advocate.

The Backpack Run is a professionally timed 5k/10k fundraiser for The Backpack
Program at Indian River CSD. In the past three years this event has raised over $10,000 to support The Backpack Program. Every week of the school year The Backpack Program sends a backpack full of food home with a student in need- not only does this support the nutritional needs of local families but this effort makes a huge difference in a child’s ability to focus, learn, and develop. Kohl’s team members looking to give back to the community by joining us as volunteers at this event not only ensures a smooth and organized 5k/10k but also helps provide a positive atmosphere and creates a high quality event for this fundraiser. We really enjoyed having Kohl's with us last year at the Backpack Run helping with t-shirts and post race food- we would love to have you with us again this year! This event will take place rain or shine so please come prepared to be comfortable. Feel free to stick around after the event to enjoy the Theresa Fall Festival!

Thank you for your consideration and we hope to see you on Saturday September 15th in Theresa! Please let me know of any questions or concerns at 315-439-4938 or liacall@ircsd.org
