Join us for our Volunteer Open House on May 22nd.This is an excellent opportunity for organizations, teams and corporations to learn more about engagement opportunities with Youth Villages, as well as the services we offer our partners. It is recommended that no more than two organizational representatives attend, as this is an open house for various groups. We would love to schedule a day just for your organization when you are ready!
During the Volunteer Open House you can expect the following:
1. An introduction to Youth Villages including:
a. who we are
b. who we serve
c. your volunteer role
2. Participation with our youth as part of our rec therapy program
3. A look into our drumming program, learning a short song and playing with youth

We are currently seeking event day volunteer support for our upcoming BMO Walk so Kids Can Talk, in 17 communities across Canada.BMO Walk so Kids Can Talk is a 5 km, family friendly event that takes place on Sunday, May 5, 2024 ! Support youth mental health and well-being in your community by volunteering on event day.
At Kids Help Phone, we are grateful to our committed and courageous volunteers, who are essential to achieving our mission - ensuring every young person has the support they need, in the way they need it most.
Volunteer Roles:
This is a one day volunteer event on Sunday, May 5, 2024. Volunteers shift times will vary, depending on the role. Please see below the available volunteer roles.
Logistics Volunteer: Working alongside Kids Help Phone staff, this role will ensure all site logistics are in place and ready to go. This will include helping with set up and tear down. People helping in this role will still be able to do the Walk if they choose to do so.
Event Experience Volunteer: Monitor checkpoints along the route and the start and finish line; cheering, entertaining, motivating and providing assistance for Walkers. People helping in this role will not be able to do the Walk.
Food & Beverage Volunteer: Organize onsite food and beverage distribution and ensure all health and safety protocols are being followed. These volunteers will be required to wear gloves and masks when handling food. People helping in this role will not be able to do the Walk.
Guest Services Volunteer: This role is a key function at a Walk site. You will collect fundraising monies, review pledge form information, and answer general questions. You will be required to attend a 30-minute training session 3-4 days before the Walk. People helping in this role will still be able to do the Walk if they choose to do so.

Mother's Refuge operates a maternity shelter for homeless, pregnant and parenting young women, ages 12-21, and their babies. We also have a Transitional Living Program for moms 18-34. We need handy volunteers who can help with maintenance at our shelter and our new transitional living facility in downtown Independence. The job is ongoing and flexible! We would like to see someone volunteer weekly or bi-weekly.

Little Bottoms Free Store provides diapers, wipes, clothing, and baby supplies to families of children aged 3 and under in Franklin County. Each Thursday night, we are open to connect families to the resources we provide. Volunteers help give our families a warm welcome and check in, shop, get diapers, and carry their bags. We serve on average over 100 children per night, providing supplies to some of Columbus' most under-resourced children and families.Available Shifts

We provide the training, the safe environment, and the communal fun. All you have to do is show up.Whether it’s family, friends, co-workers or just you, we’d love to see you in our distribution center. We offer a wide variety of volunteer opportunities six days a week, mostly at our main distribution center near I-70 & Havana, but we also have mobile pantry distributions at sites around the community on both weekdays and Saturdays.
