A lack of funding is a major challenge for organizations in Africa. BPDC is seeking a skilled volunteer as a virtual Fundraising Manager. This volunteer will report directly to the Founder/Executive Director, but with access to working with other managers and board members to achieve the fundraising goals of the organization. This role requires fundraising experience or extensive experience in dealing with donors directly. You will be responsible for managing and improving our aspects of fundraising as well as writing grants to help us raise the needed funds to meet our project priorities.

This is an important project for our nonprofit because in 2021 we are strategizing to support more children from poor families. A fundraising strategy with a Fundraising Manager volunteer solely helping with this will be a success.

Portland Backpack is about more than food: we want to let kids know that their community cares about them. In this activity, we'll make care cards with art, stickers, and colorful messages of encouragement and belonging to tuck into our kids' food sacks.

(This is a virtual activity.)

Care cards are love notes that are tucked into the food sacks. They give a personalized message of encouragement and belonging that all kids appreciate.

You can use blank index cards 4x6 inches or smaller. Or, create your own cards by cutting 1/4 sheet of card stock. Decorate with art, stickers, and colorful messages. Completed care cards will be mailed to the Portland Backpack office.

Check out care cards made by other volunteers on YouTube:
