Opportunity Details

Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin (FAEW) serves 36 counties in Wisconsin, helping to provide meals for nearly 400,000 people experiencing hunger each year. Volunteers work to ensure that food donated to FAEW is safe to distribute to FAEW's member agencies. Volunteers inspect, sort, package, and label various food items, which are then made available for FAEW's agencies to order and pick up. FAEW volunteers help to supply these agencies with millions of pounds of food each year.

Volunteers will help to box products and sort fresh produce from local farmers which will help provide our hungry neighbors with nutritious food. Every day we receive donations of produce from grocery stores and farmers, and it needs to be sorted into mixed pallets. We also have volunteers help with sorting dry goods and frozen meat.

Our annual bowling event held to raise funds for our non-profit agency. We hold the event over 3 days and at 4 different times; thus allowing for more participation availability. It's a fun filled event perfect for ANYONE. We have bowling, prizes, a dj, food, auctions, participating colleges from the area, and lots more! Our "Kids' Day" focuses on the children, and we have extra activities and prizes for them to win. The dates this year allow for it to be even more fun and themed! We begin at Hillview Bowling Lanes in Greensburg on the 17th of March. We continue the fun that weekend on the 18th at Hillview again. Then we start the party back up and finish on March 25th at Yough Bowling in Connellsville.

Please join in supporting our Fired-Up Fundraiser and Charity Ball presented by Pierce Manufacturing on May 5th, 2018. The event will be held at The Garage at the Harley-Davidson Museum® at the crossroads of 6th and Canal Streets in Milwaukee. The purpose of this event is to provide support for our programming, have fun, and bring together all the great people who have supported our programs for the last 30 years. This includes our Summer Camp for Burn Injured Youth, Fire Safety Newspapers in Education Programs, and more. Our supporters made a difference in the lives of thousands of young burn survivors and saved thousands more through fire safety education. Without them, we could not have made such a positive impact on the work we do to create a fire safe and burn-free Wisconsin.

Volunteers are desperately needed to help set-up, register guests, sell raffle and game tickets, run silent auctions, collect pledge cards, run photo booth, and clean up when done.
