Sanskriti Youth Foundation invites compassionate and enthusiastic volunteers to join our weekly Sunday teaching sessions for underprivileged children living around the Jhandewalan metro station area. These sessions take place at MCD Park, near Jhandewalan Metro Station, and are held every Sunday at 11:00 AM.

The goal of this initiative is to bridge the learning gap for children who lack access to quality education and guidance. Many of these children belong to families struggling with poverty, and are often first-generation learners. Through this program, we aim to introduce them to the basics of literacy, numeracy, general awareness, and life skills in a safe, outdoor, and nurturing environment.

Volunteers will engage in teaching foundational subjects like Hindi, English, and Mathematics, while also incorporating fun learning methods such as storytelling, drawing, games, and creative activities. In addition, we also focus on building confidence, discipline, hygiene awareness, and values among these young learners.

This is more than just a teaching opportunity—it's a chance to become a mentor and role model to children who need encouragement, support, and stability. Volunteers will be provided with teaching materials and guidance from our team. No formal teaching background is required—just a passion for education and commitment to show up consistently.

Join us in transforming lives, one Sunday at a time. Your time and energy can spark hope, build curiosity, and empower these children to dream beyond their circumstances.

Join us at T-Mobile Field for a day of emergency preparation & baseball! This event is hosted in collaboration with PEMCO insurance, and focuses on teaching Girl Scouts how to prevent & prepare for common emergency situations including fire, storms, and earthquakes.

General Volunteer Role: Assignments may include activity assistance/facilitation, welcome/check in assistance, traffic control, etc. This will be a large event with 1000 participants anticipated at T-Mobile Field.

Volunteer assignments will include:
Welcome & Check In Table (15) - Help check in the volunteers, assign them to their tables and duties for the day, helping pass out backpacks to participants, answering questions

Traffic Management/Floats (15) -managing traffic in the venue, helping participants get to each station, monitoring behavior, and location questions

Station 1 Earthquakes (16) Explain the different types of earthquakes: subduction, divergence, and lateral or slip using play dough and index card, Teach drop, cover, and hold activity, pass out small playdough to each participant

Station 2: Fire (16): At this station, they will inform Girl Scouts about reunification plans, and pass out a small ID card to write their out-of-state contact, emergency contact information, and meeting information along with a PEMCO-branded lanyard. They will discuss Fire Escape Plan, point to Girl Scouts Coloring book with the go-bag activity, and the fire escape song.

Station 3: Wind Storm/Power Outage (16): At this station, Girl Scouts will learn what goes in a storm box or bag. We will do this by creating a storm box using an outline on a poster or whiteboard and have magnets shaped like a thermos, food/snacks, games, etc. Volunteers will then educate the scouts on what each item is and why it's important to have in your storm box. Scouts will also learn about kinetic energy that goes into making the hand cranked flashlights work, and we will give them flashlights to take home. Volunteers will encourage scouts to have a crank-a-thon with the scouts to see who can power up their flashlight first!

The goal of this project is to organize and optimize the AFFM Clothing Closet to ensure that all items are clean, wearable, and appropriate for teen use. Volunteers will assist in sorting, hanging, and categorizing donated clothing. Items will be reviewed based on condition and relevance:

Keep: Clothing that is clean, gently used, and suitable for teens will be hung or folded by type (e.g., tops, pants, jackets, etc.).

Donate Elsewhere: Items that are outdated, not teen-appropriate, or in styles unlikely to be worn by our target age group will be separated for donation to other organizations.

Discard: Items that are stained, damaged, or otherwise unusable will be removed from the closet.

Volunteers will commit a few hours each week until the closet is fully organized. This project will help streamline AFFM’s clothing support services and ensure teens receive clothing they can feel confident and comfortable in.

Time Commitment: A few hours per week M-F (flexible scheduling) until completion.

Skills Needed: Organization, attention to detail, ability to assess clothing condition and style relevance.

Impact: This project ensures that the clothing closet remains a useful, respectful, and empowering resource for teens supported by AFFM.

Individuals Making Progress Advancing Communities in Texas dba IMPACT Texas. We were founded in 2014 and registered with the IRS as a tax-exempt corporation February 15, 2015, with a public charity status.

We will host our Eleventh Annual Backpack to School Bash (Bash)Pflugerville, Saturday, July 12, 2025, between 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. (Bash program service times only) at the Pflugerville Public Library where we giveaway backpacks and school supplies to many deserving students. In addition to the backpacks the students receive dental goody bags, hygiene packs, snacks, youth first-aid kits and hand sanitizers.

The purpose of the Backpack to School Bash is to remove barriers to academic success.

The Bash is extremely important to our families as the focus is community development and economic empowerment. Students having new backpacks and school supplies boost their self-esteem and confidence knowing they are prepared for the new school year.

Over the past ten years providing this service we have received many testimonials from parents sharing how excited their children were to attend the Bash, knowing their child has the basic school supplies alleviates stress from the parents. Additionally, families have shared it allows them to focus on clothing, shoes and other essentials for their child.

We have three programs that are concurrent with the Bash:
• IMPACT Read to Succeed, promoting the power of reading where we giveaway reading materials to students
• IMPACT Nutrition addressing food insecurity one nutrition bag at a time, where we give away “Nutrition Bags” with nonperishable food items and produce to families in attendance
• IMPACT Financial literacy program where a financial institution assists families with applying for a free checking account and debit card

IMPACT Texas is grateful to serve our community!

Thank you for supporting IMPACT Texas a nonprofit who is Determined to Make an IMPACT!
