Maranatha EFC Mission Ministry will be hosting an OCC Shoebox Packing Party on November 4th, 1pm - 5pm. Donated items for children ages 2 - 14 will be packed in shoeboxes and sent to countries all over the world. Items include clothing, school supplies, hygiene items and toys or games. Also, Maranatha EFC is the Collection Sight for collecting filled shoeboxes during OCC National Collection Week, November 12th - 19th, 2018.

Opportunity Details

We need volunteers to play with the children in the childcare during trainings and support groups for local foster parents. Children in the childcare will be both biological and foster children of the foster parents attending the training.

We have different stations in the childcare rooms including a playdoh station, coloring stations, puzzle stations, etc.

We also provide snacks for you and the children.

We require a level 2 background check. We will email you a link to begin your background check. We pay for half of the background check. The other half will cost you roughly $10 and clears you to volunteer with us for up to a year.

The Adopt-A-Family ministry at Catholic Charities works to connect donors with individuals and families served through our ministries during the holiday season. Last year, we were able to provide connections for more than 500 individuals and families. On Recipient Pick-up Day, we help hundreds of recipients organize and receive their amazing donations from donors.

Opportunity Details

The Youth Center respectfully seeks your support with our Annual Christmas Tree Lot. This event that allows us to raise funds in support of educational, mentoring, art, and enrichment programs for children and youth.

We can use volunteers anytime from November 25 to December 17. Weekends anytime 9 am – 9 p.m. or weekdays 12-9 p.m. Lot volunteers can help with watering the trees, sweeping, getting twine of the trees, getting hot-chocolate table organized, etc. Kids can come help out as long as parents supervise them.

We are also looking for adult volunteers to help us when we our “standing days” when we fresh cut Christmas trees that came from Oregon. Here are all 7 shifts. Help with one or all we be VERY much appreciated.

Opportunity Details

Snow Pile is a program that allows families of hospitalized children to select toys to be gifted to their sick or injured child. Parents or other family members are invited to a festive location within the hospital where they have the opportunity to enjoy timely holiday music and a delicious treat while selecting a few gifts that are sure to bring a smile to their child’s face. These activities will help promote an enjoyable holiday experience for the patients and families despite being admitted to the hospital. Volunteers are requested to come into the hospital to help decorate for and run this great event.
