When children select a new Page Ahead book to keep for their very own they write their name on a bookplate sticker and affix it to the inside cover. Bookplate stickers come in rolls of 1,000 and need to be rolled out and cut into strips of 12 stickers. The end result of this volunteer activity is bookplates that are easy for Page Ahead to ship to hundreds of schools in Washington State for teachers to distribute to their students for our spring book fairs. When children select their (free to them) new books, putting their name in it gives them ownership and gets them excited about reading their new books. This opportunity is repeatable!
