Throughout the year, various programs and services at JTC provide opportunities for volunteering. These include the Preschool, Parent-Infant Program, Friday Family School, International Sessions, Counseling & Child Development, Deaf & Hard of Hearing support, Listening & Spoken Language assistance, Events coordination, and participation in other Special Projects. These opportunities may range from a few days to several weeks or even months in duration.

Goals:
The Associate Board’s three main goals are meant to support the Children’s Council mission to advance affordable, quality child care in San Francisco:
-Involve dynamic, passionate, and skilled individuals to spearhead quality child care awareness
-Support Children’s Council mission and efforts by actively participating in and coordinating events and fundraisers
-Develop a pipeline for future leadership of Children’s Council
Responsibilities:
-Raise awareness of Children’s Council and its mission to your networks
-Individual Give/Get commitment of $200 per year, suggested split as follows:
-Give (Donate) $100/Get (Fundraise) $100
-Attend at least 75% of Associate Board meetings each year (meetings are quarterly)
-Attend and invite people from your networks to Children’s Council’s events, such as our annual fundraiser
-Recruitment of future Associate Board members
-Serve a term of 1 year (renewable)

We are always happy to welcome volunteers to our school and orphanage center close to Mombasa, Kenya, for a minimum of 6 weeks. If it is for children education, care taking, school projects or helping to build new facilities - every helping hand is needed.Your role as a volunteer will vary based on your skills and interests.
Some of the possible duties include:
Teaching & Education: Assist in classrooms and support homework and tutoring sessions.
Childcare: Provide day-to-day care, including supervising playtime, organizing games, and offering emotional support to children of all ages.
Health & Well-being: Assist with healthcare initiatives, including basic first aid, health education, and ensuring children follow good hygiene practices.
Skills Training: If you have a background in a trade or skill, you can teach vocational skills (e.g., computer literacy, arts and crafts, music).

Songea's Kids is an all-volunteer nonprofit organization based in the Seattle, WA area. We provide nurturing homes, food, clothing, health care and education to orphans and vulnerable children in one of the poorest regions of southern Tanzania. We are seeking a volunteer with experience in developing and implementing multi-media communications strategies to share our stories, impact and needs with current donors and to attract new donors to our cause. This is a critical role in our organization that helps us to expand our reach so that we can build hope, transform lives, and break the cycle of poverty for orphans vulnerable children and their communities.The Child Sponsor Coordinator is a critical role for our organization. The volunteer maintains files on all sponsored children, tracks updates from our Tanzanian NGO partner on each child's well-being and progress in school, communicates updates with the children's sponsors, and facilitates the building of relationships between sponsors and children. We currently have 152 sponsored children, and continue to add new kids who are in urgent need to our program. With the growing number of children, it would be ideal to have two volunteers for our child sponsor coordination.

Bring your team of 8 or more to Portland Backpack's office/warehouse space for a Team Building packing event! Volunteers will work side by side to craft care cards and pack food sacks. Your efforts & donation help our program address local childhood hunger.The visiting team makes a donation to our program to cover the cost of the food to be packed ahead of the event. Each food sack is valued at ~$6.00/sack. The minimum commitment is 304 food sacks.
We pack in our warehouse space with the door open for air flow. We recommend dressing in layers. Closed toe shoes are required in our warehouse space.
