Every year we help young people in the area enjoy new adventures; to experience the outdoors; interact with others, gain confidence and have the opportunity to reach their full potential.Working alongside our youth members are adult volunteers, with a huge variety of roles and opportunities available.
Scout Leaders help young people in the 5 to 14 age range reach their full potential. Scouts develop skills including teamwork, time management, leadership, initiative, planning, communication, self-motivation, cultural awareness and commitment. We help young people to get jobs, save lives and even change the world.
This everyday adventure is possible thanks to our adult volunteers. We help volunteers get the most out of their experiences at Scouts by providing opportunities for adventure, training, fun and friendship.
Our award-winning training scheme for volunteers means that adults get as much from Scouts as young people. Our approach focuses on what you want to get out of volunteering with Scouts, while respecting how much time you can offer. Over 90% of Scout volunteers say that their skills and experiences have been useful in their work or personal life.
We operate flexible volunteering so whether it is one hour a month or 2 hours a week, we actively welcome your support.

Through our Pediatric Massage Volunteer Program, Buds to Blossoms brings international teams of volunteers to Ho Chi Minh City (aka Saigon), Vietnam each year.We are currently looking for volunteers to provide gentle massage to AIDS orphans, other children affected by HIV/AIDS, orphans with disabilities and other disadvantaged children.
During this volunteer program you will:
* live in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam for 1-3 weeks
* receive basic instruction in massage for children
* learn to provide massage in ways that not only deliver important health benefits but also communicate to children they are safe, loved, and respected
* get a tremendous amount of hands-on experience providing massage to children with HIV/AIDS and disabilities
* experience the joy of offering nurturing, therapeutic touch to children who have a great need for the care you can provide
Most of our work is not highly technical. Instead, it flows naturally from our capacity to reach out to others with warmth. While experience with children and massage may be helpful, it is not required for participation in this program.
Some of the children live in orphanages where there are relatively few adult caregivers and volunteer help is crucial to meeting their needs.
Massage is of particular value to the children we work with because its immune system-strengthening effect may improve their compromised health. The massages we provide to orphans with disabilities improve their mobility and lessen the discomfort of perpetually-contracted muscles. Massage also promotes the children's well-being by bringing relief from pain and anxiety and helping meet their emotional and developmental needs for one-on-one nurturing attention and touch.
Visit www.budstoblossoms.org to select program dates from the calendar and send in your application form. If you want more information before applying, please contact us via the “Contact” form on our website.
We look forward to sharing this incredibly rewarding, therapeutic and fun experience with you and the children.

Stroller Hikes is entirely volunteer run. Our most common volunteer types are outdoor event leaders, which lead stroller hikes, toddler treks, bike-a-hikes, rock climbing, and more. To become a leader, the adult should have a child to bring, be patient and good at engaging the group and determining their needs and pace, and have knowledge of basic first aid and nature hazards such as poison oak, rattlesnakes, and ticks. Consistency is helpful for encouraging other families in attending, so outdoor events should be for 90 minutes at least once per month, at the same time. Locations can be variable. Contact admin@strollerhikes.com to express interest in this position. You will receive t-shirts for your family, some marketing materials, and a first aid kit, and guidance about event leadership. This is a wonderful way to build a connection with other families and within your own, give to the community, and experience some amazing outdoor spaces!Available Shifts
