We are in need of volunteers to review community resources as it relates to HTC's services to evaluate the need for a possible expansion into surrounding counties not already served by HTC. We request that the volunteer(s) spend time with us at HTC to understand how and what we do in order to do an accurate survey. Remaining time would be an offsite as needed.

The CASA Program of St. Joseph County will be holding an appreciation/recognition/recruitment event on June 27, 2019, at St. Patrick's County Park, from 4pm to 8:30pm. There will be inflatables, food, music, canoeing, games, etc. for volunteer's families. CASA is requesting 5 volunteers from Mishawaka Kohl's and 5 volunteers from South Bend Kohl's to assist with hosting, monitoring inflatables, canoeing, clean up, etc. The event is 4-8:30, and volunteers can work 2 hour shifts and split the time if desired. Our program served 484 children in foster care in 2018. Unfortunately, 339 children remained on a waitlist for a Court Appointed Special Advocate Volunteer. It's extremely important to recognize CASA volunteers, as they work in the child welfare field, on extremely difficult cases involving abuse and neglect of children 0 to 18 years of age. CASAs provide support to the child, and recommendations to the court regarding best interests of the children they serve.
