Goal: Provide an opportunity for children to explore big trucks and equipment and learn about the jobs people do with the machines.
Many community businesses bring a piece of large equipment and allow children to climb on and explore. Workers are their to talk about the equipment and the jobs they do. There is also a discovery center for parents and children to read books and do activities together.

In 1998, a group of parents who had adopted children through Children’s Friend held an ice cream social. They never imagined their party would turn into The Big Dipper All-You-Can-Eat Ice Cream Festival – a community tradition that is our most important annual fundraiser. It has become a fun family event that thousands of people from all over central Massachusetts look forward to every year. The Big Dipper 2018 will be held on Saturday, June 23rd at Elm Park in Worcester, from 10:30 am to 5:30 pm. All proceeds go to benefit our four programs for central Mass children and families: Adoption and Family Services, Child and Family Mental Health Counseling Center, Early Learning Center, and the only free grief support center for children who have lost a parent, caregiver, or sibling.

At the Dipper – Volunteer! It takes more than 150 volunteers to run the Dipper. Want to scoop ice cream? Face paint? Flip burgers? Sell raffle tickets? It’s fun (and often sticky!).

Children's Learning Center will be hosting the 11th Annual Night GLOW 5K Run/Walk fundraiser to support their center. CLC is a not for profit charity (501c3) that directly impacts children with special needs & developmental delays. The event promotes physical fitness in a fun atmosphere for the very young, as well as the not so young. At our 2017 event, around 300 citizens showed their support. The event encourages participants to dress up in as much neon, glow in the dark gear as they can to help "light up the night.” There will be music, a photo booth with souvenir photo strip, and fun activities during onsite registration 6:15-7:45 & during results tabulation. Race begins at 8pm. There will be stations along the race route to encourage all participants to keep going with glow-in-the-dark fun themes!

We will need volunteers to help with pre-activities from 6:00pm-7:45pm - assist with bounce houses, photo booth, kids train, and etc. Once race begins at 8pm, we will also need help with removing bid numbers after racers cross finish line and to hand out items on the race route.

Volunteers will be helping run the golf tournament in every way, setup, registration, par 3 games monitoring, serve drinks at the awards ceremony, pass out prizes to winners and pack up at the end of the day. The Therapy Place currently serves over 160 children each week, children who deserve to have every opportunity to reach their full potential. The funds raised from these events help us provide financial assistance to families whose children participate in our Bridges Preschool program. Funds help us to provide top-notch therapeutic services through purchasing needed equipment, performing facility upgrades and training our therapists and teachers. Without these funds, our budget would cover basic operations and not allow us to keep up with the technology and training our staff needs to provide the best care possible.
