Surfrider Spirit Sessions is a youth serving organization dedicated to building healthy communities by supporting at-risk and vulnerable Teens youth. We leverage the stoke of surfing and the network of support in our surf Ohana to help youth become champions of positive change.As a mentor you aren't alone. We provide support and run group surf sessions and you'll have a dedicated youth to work with AND also be among a group of other mentors and mentees. It's fun and rewarding and you'll be able to positively impact the lives of Hawaii;s teens.

Our mentors come from all walks of life: they are architects, attorneys, doctors, yoga instructors, teachers, construction workers, film makers, writers, musicians, designers, you name it. Bound together by their passion for surfing and their love of our community, they are the heart of Surfrider Spirit Sessions.
As a mentor you'll work one-on one with youth, but you’ll also be in a group setting with other mentors and their mentees. We will be there to support and guide you as you need, and we will provide the guided activities and equipment for everyone at each session.
Are you ready to be a mentor?
Ideally you :
- are an intermediate level surfer, comfortable in the water, and confident enough to offer basic surf instruction and guidance.
- a great role model! You demonstrate healthy life choices, (even if your path has been a bit bumpy, we welcome those who have made course corrections and are currently walking a healthier lifestyle!)
- a minimum of 22 years old
- dedicated, reliable, caring, patient
- willing to mentor outside the program is a plus but not required
- can commit to session time frame of 4.5 hours on Saturday for 8 consecutive weeks
- agree to attend mentor orientation and training

Nankind (Formerly, Nanny Angel Network) offers rewarding volunteer positions for skilled childcare providers who are looking to make a difference in the lives of families.
Virtual Angels provide supportive cancer care, by engaging children every week in homework-aid, educational and emotional support (Homework Club) OR age-appropriate 8 activities that are being delivered for free monthly to the volunteers and families (Fun In A Box) to help children navigate the changes that come with a cancer diagnosis and healthily address their emotions.
Nankind volunteers receive specialized training including grief and bereavement and receive the support of NAN’s Child Life Specialist throughout their volunteering time.

The purpose of this project is to accommodate the growing need for affordable and quality early learning and childcare in the community of Outlook and surrounding area.Quality early learning programs support children's development as well as provide childcare for parents so they are able to enter the workforce. It is an essential service in our community.
An expansion of the current facility will allow us to provide this essential services to 57 more children as well as address the shortage of skilled employees in the community.

The Annie Malone May Day Parade is one of the oldest and largest parades in the area. In 1910, the first May Day Parade was held. The parade for many years was held in north St. Louis, however as the size of participants and spectators grew, it was moved to Downtown St. Louis. Today, the parade has grown to be the 2nd largest African-American parade in the country with over 3,500 participants and 30,000 spectators. The parade is our agency’s largest fundraiser with proceeds covering both direct program costs and operating expenses not covered by other sources of revenue.Volunteer Positions:

Stargazey's Volunteer Orientation is a great opportunity for you to get involved with our program, and become part of our volunteer team.Whether you are interested in being part of our therapeutic sessions, working with horses in our rescue and revocation program, or just supporting our charitable efforts we welcome you to come and join us!
Our initial Volunteer Orientations consists of a talk on program practices, volunteering opportunities, safety drills, and a time to meet, and interact with some of our team and beloved equines. After attending a volunteer orientation we will work with you to schedule good times to come volunteer in our activities that run throughout the year.
We ask that attendees wear appropriate clothing, and closed toed shoes (preferably boots).
