The 2018 Walk of Hope, hosted by El Paso Children’s Hospital, is a luminaria lighted, sunset walk around Ascarate Lake. The Walk, set for Saturday, Sept. 29th, begins at 5:00pm with a Kid’s Fun Fair. All donations raised through registrations and sponsorships go towards survivors of childhood cancer ages 19-21 who are no longer eligible for pediatric care. Funds support annual oncology exams that manage the health risks posed after enduring the treatment period.

Please consider volunteering at Daystar's fundraising event, Love Shines Lunch. Help with registration, greeting, processing payments, set up, etc. Daystar is celebrating 30 joyful years, this event is a kick off to an anniversary celebration! The money raised at this event will help fund Daystar's services and programs for children with special medical needs.

Volunteers will be needed from 11am -2pm and help with registration, greeters, coat check and check out. Lunch will be provided.

Daystar, New York State’s only Pediatric Day-Respite Center depends on the generosity of individuals in the community in order to sustain its services. Daystar fulfills a critical gap in community healthcare resources for families with young children who are coping with significant medical conditions and resulting developmental challenges. Daystar’s model includes aspects of social work, child life, pediatric medicine, early and special education, assistive technology, physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech, vision, music, special education, assistive tech and nutrition.

The 4th annual Seattle Sounders FC Captains Viewing Party celebrates the strength and courage of 22 Austen Everett Foundation / Seattle Sounders FC Honorary and Dream Team Captains. This event provides the opportunity for kids battling cancer and their families to forget about cancer and enjoy a funfilled evening with special appearances, Xbox game play, photo booth, championship poster making, food, beverages while watching the Sounders FC vs Vancouver Whitecaps match streamed live.

We will be hosting our 1 Year Anniversary Party to celebrate 1 year at our current location and recently obtaining our 501c3 status. Our goal is to raise awareness of what the Foster Pantry is and what we do, to raise awareness about foster care by having representatives from different agencies, as well as current foster parents there to talk with those who might be interested in learning more. Financially our goal is to raise enough money during the event to pay the rent through the end of the year on the current location so we can focus our efforts on securing a new location, possibly additional location, as we have quickly outgrown our current space.

Awareness of both the Foster Pantry and Foster Care is crucial in recruiting new foster parents. We want the foster parents to know that the community supports them and there are resources out there for them.

On Thursday, September 13, 2018 we will have annual Miles of Pillowcase Smiles event at the Trinity Baptist Church, 6528 North Monroe, Spokane, WA 99208. We are celebrating making our 10,000th pillowcase at this event. Kohls volunteers have been an important part of this journey--and we hope you can join us on this day. Prevent Child Abuse Illinois will host the first annual Downtown Springfield Family FunFest on September 8, 2018. The event will take place on Washington between 5th and 6th Streets from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm. Tickets are $10 per person (children 2 and under are free). All profits will go to support the work of Prevent Child Abuse Illinois.

This one-of-a-kind festival, designed specifically for children and families, will include inflatable bounce houses and mazes, a gaming trailer, roving characters, games, crafts and so much more including a main stage featuring local and celebrity acts.
