Learn how a CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) of the Coastal Bend helps children in foster care (from Nueces and Aransas counties) build their future while being their voice to advocate for their best interests and help find them their forever home. During this time it is crucial to have a strong voice and caring heart for all youth in foster care who are feeling the effects of not only their personal crisis but now also the public health crisis.Join us on Zoom for a brief, non-committal 45 minute information session to hear about the roles and requirements of a CASA volunteer. These sessions explain the role of an advocate and the next steps in the application process.

Welcome to Women United’s Community-Wide Baby Shower Drive! Now, more than ever, there is a need for baby supplies for moms in need across the Capital Region. On May 18th, during our now virtual 5.18 Day Community Celebration, we are collecting donations virtually and filling a CDTA bus with Baby Shower items. These items will be distributed to local agencies including Mechanicville Area Community Services Center, Unity House, Trinity Alliance, Schoharie County Community Action Program, Schenectady Community Action Program, Mom Starts Here and Baby Institute. We are working diligently with CDTA to provide a convenient and safe way for you to drop off donated items and are also happy to arrange pick up if that method is preferred. Our goal is to fill the bus with our community’s generosity!
Please help us make this [Virtual] Community Baby Shower the best yet by supporting our young families with diapers and other important baby essentials. A list of all accepted items can be found at the bottom of this message.
