This is a remote opportunity. We will send you an Assembly Kit that you can use at any clean table at the location of your choice. Most folks like to do it while watching TV, but it's up to you!

Please go to www.sosforppe.org/request-kits to tell us the number of Assembly Kits you want and where we should send them. We can help you with a remote Team Building event or an add-on event to a virtual meeting.

Don't forget to register your donation hours at your company portal.

Opportunity Details
We will send you an Assembly Kit with all the main materials; all you have to supply is a stapler and scissors.

You can save a life by donating 1 hour of your time from the safety and comfort of your home. It's easy to do (ages 5 and up) and can make a huge difference!

While many hospitals are now able to get Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), other facilities and organizations are still in great need! From senior centers to students and teachers, there is a shortage of PPE to fight Covid-19. How would you feel being asked to work in an environment where not only could it compromise your health, but the health of all your family members? You can help the people we count on to help us.

At SOSforPPE.org, we supply PPE Assembly Kits for our network of volunteers to safely assemble PPE and then we get it to our frontline caregivers to help keep them safe. We send you the Assembly Kit with all the main materials you need to make face shields, masks or eaRests to help firemen, ambulance drivers, nurses, doctors, seniors, students and neighbors.

There is a tremendous need for Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for our caregivers, can they count on you to help?

Please tell us the number of Assembly Kits you want and where we should send them at www.sosforppe.org/request-kits

(Tax Deductible Monetary Donations can be made on our website, SOSforPPE.org, or sent through your corporate portal to our parent non-profit, STEMsForYouth.org)

Looking for a volunteer opportunity built around your schedule? Volunteer to drive older adults to the grocery store, shop for them, or pick up & deliver orders placed online.
Food insecurity is a concern for many older adults. Imagine not being able to drive to the grocery store or being unable to walk through the aisles because of mobility problems. Our grocery volunteers drive care receivers to the grocery store and assist with shopping if needed, or the volunteer will pick up their grocery list and money and shop for the care receiver. We are also seeing an increase in requests for simple pick-up and delivery of grocery orders placed online. Volunteers will also assist care receivers with bringing groceries in and putting them away if needed.

This is a one-on-one volunteer opportunity. Volunteers are matched with a care receiver to assist once per month and plan shopping events directly to accommodate each other’s schedules. Like our medical transportation, volunteers use their own vehicles and establish their own criteria of time and geographical areas where they wish to drive.

Family support and public transportation are not consistently available to older adults that no longer drive. Without transportation, older adults lose their independence and are denied access to basic living services such as getting to medical appointments, buying groceries, or accessing social services. As a volunteer, you can help fulfill a need and make a connection with the older adults in your community.

Through your service you can help Faith in Action of the Greater Kanawha Valley enhance the dignity and quality of life for all people in our community, neighbor to neighbor.
