As a Memory Care Volunteer, you'll have the rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful impact by engaging with individuals experiencing memory loss or dementia, including Alzheimer's Disease. You'll bring joy and mental stimulation through brain-boosting activities and heartfelt companionship during bi-weekly 3-hour sessions in the client's home.To ensure you're well-prepared, you'll receive comprehensive training in the Best Friends Approach from the Alzheimer Society, along with ongoing support, supervision, and guidance. This role offers a chance to enrich lives while gaining valuable experience and support from a dedicated team.
Volunteer requirements:
Demonstrate a kind and patient demeanor and possess excellent communication skills.
Activities are delivered in the client's home on a bi-weekly basis over a 3-hour segment.
Background in health care, education or social work is an asset, but not mandatory.
Each volunteer is a representative of JFSC. Interaction with clients, partners and the public should always be polite and professional.

Accurately maintain Salesforce database, including entering and updating donor & prospect information/contributions and preparing gift acknowledgements within three days of receipt
Reconcile fundraising data entry with accounting
Prepare fundraising reports
Create merged mailings
Prepare board meeting documents, board manuals and other board materials, updating them as necessary
Update grants calendar
Conduct prospect research
Provide administrative support for the annual golf tournament
Provide general administrative support as needed by the organization
PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
Strong verbal and written communication skills, including proper business English
Detail oriented with strong organizational ability
Skilled in database management, Salesforce for Nonprofits experience a plus
Proficient with Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel, Outlook and Publisher

CAMP holds nine week-long summer camp sessions each summer at Camp CAMP in Center Point, TX for Military and non-Military families that have individuals with special needs between the ages of 5 and 45. Each individual session runs Sunday – Friday and overnight stay is required. Camp provides a thorough orientation and continuous training for the program. Volunteers will be trained on how to work with individuals who have special needs - to include child development, hygiene and personal care, behavior management, medical diagnoses, and CAMP policies and procedures. Training is mandatory for all new and returning volunteers.Available Shifts

Circles of San Antonio Community Coalition is a program of the San Antonio Council on Alcohol and Drug Abuse. Coalition has two opportunities to stuff bags:1. Coalition members volunteered to read 4,000 essays from San Antonio youth in December 2015 for the Do the Write Thing Challenge Texas. Bexar County Juvenile Probation Chief Lynn Wilkerson and Judge Antonia Arteaga are the chairs of the San Antonio Chapter. Of those essays 66 finalist have been selected and will be attending an award banquet on 4/26/16. We have 66 backpacks that will need to be stuffed with the book of essays, a t shirt and other promotional items.
2. We will be working at the 4/30 DEA take backs across San Antonio and want to hand each person that drops off medications information about the SAWS event on 5/14 and information about our coalition efforts to reduce substance abuse in Bexar County.

Get your morning off on the right foot by filling grocery orders for seniors!Help seniors and individuals with disabilities maintain their independence while walking with purpose and enjoying new friends. Fill orders at the grocery store for about 2-3 hours twice per month, or on a weekly basis. Accommodations can be made for working volunteers who cannot stay the entire shift.
Volunteer Shoppers fill individual grocery orders during a shift at our grocery partner in Bloomington (St Anthony location also available). Shopper shifts begin at 6:30 AM and end about 9AM, Monday-Friday. Volunteers can choose to help once a week, or once every other week. Volunteers do not pay for groceries nor do they deliver them to clients.
Six month time commitment required; we can accommodate snowbird, summerbird, vacation, and other schedule changes. Volunteers aged 16 or 17 must be accompanied by an adult volunteer while shopping. The adult must also register as a volunteer.
