Ombudsman volunteers connect with residents of assisted living and nursing homes, helping to reduce feelings of isolation and loneliness, especially for the many residents who may have no one to speak on their behalf.

With the training provided, ombudsman volunteers educate residents about their rights, empowering them to address their own concerns directly with staff or with the support of their ombudsman (advocate). Volunteers equip residents – & their families – to voice questions and concerns about care and services to the appropriate department or staff person who can investigate and work to resolve the issue.

Some volunteers make presentations or share information at outreach events.
You will receive training and support from Pro Seniors’ staff. Hours are flexible and convenient.
Join us as a volunteer to help seniors understand how to get the assistance they need and exercise their rights, or consider helping by making presentations, outreach activities, or follow-up. You will receive training and support from Pro Seniors’ staff. Hours are flexible and convenient.

Craft and write cards to our community of individuals that care for their clients and loved ones. November is National Family Caregivers Month and you will help recognize the people that care for their loved ones around the clock. This is a fun and easy way for you to uplift often under-recognized community members while getting crafty with your colleagues!

Sound Generations is located in Belltown in Downtown Seattle. We serve the entirety of King County so your cards will reach near and far! This activity can be done multiple times throughout the month and will take 15-30 minutes, or however long you want to spend decorating and writing. Please provide materials.
