Purpose: Grocery Bringers help carry out the mission of the nonprofit Bringing Justice Home. Our mission:To foster the health and wellness of medically vulnerable neighbors facing food insecurity through the delivery of groceries and household supplies and through offering social support; and to engage the community in the work of justice through education, shared resources, and building just relationships.
Grocery Bringers provide neighbors greater access to healthy, affordable food and household supplies, thereby increasing household food security while extending the dignity of choice. Grocery Bringers also make connections across the many boundary lines that often divide us, making our community stronger.
Location: Grocery Bringers pick up groceries and household supplies from Kroger stores and deliver them to the homes of neighbors who may reside in any metro Louisville zip code. Bringers also pick up food at our pantry storage unit and deliver it to neighbors. Bringers may also be asked to pick up food at Dare to Care Food Bank and other locations and deliver it to the storage facility or directly to neighbors’ homes.
Key Responsibilities: (Note: Groceries and supplies will be paid for by Bringing Justice Home. Bringers provide their own transportation with no reimbursement.)

Go into Kroger to pick up one or two items if unavailable in the pickup order, when applicable. We can provide the funds for this.
Deliver groceries to the neighbor’s front door or carry groceries inside for neighbors who require this assistance.
Contact the neighbor to notify them of completed delivery if you are doing contact-free drop-off.
Protect our neighbors who have chronic health conditions and/or are immunocompromised by using precautions such as masking and social distancing to keep everyone safe.
Bring any voiced or observed needs or concerns back to Bringing Justice Home’s Executive Director for review.
Submit Delivery Feedback form after completing each delivery

Serve and love one another – a great way to do this is by delivering a hot meal to our frailest neighbors. You and your team can host a route once a week, taking turns with who delivers each week (once a month opportunities to deliver are also available). For instance, your team can delivery route 5 every Tuesday, and depending on how many team members you have, some folks may only deliver once every couple months.Routes typically take less than one hour to complete and can be picked up at Fresh meals On Wheels on Taylor Drive at 11:10 a.m. Contact Meals On Wheels at 451-7011 for more information.

Hike for Hunger #HikeforHungerWY is an outdoor adventure event that raises awareness of hunger and food insecurity in Wyoming. Hike for Hunger will be held at Hynds Lodge & Amphitheatre and it will feature outdoor fun, food, music, fall family photos and more for the whole family! This event takes will include two guided hikes through the beautiful trails of the Medicine Bow National Forest on a 1/2 mile loop trail called the Beaver Creek Trail. The volunteer opportunities are helping with set-up, registration, serving food, helping with children's actives, seating those who need help with the handicap access, clean up, and more.
This event is important because the cost of food has risen significantly and many of our clients cannot afford to eat. In the last four months we have gone from serving over 6,000 meals a month to now over 8,000 meals a month and the number of clients continues to climb. With that, the cost of feeding our wonderful clients has also risen and we are spend on average about $35,000 a month. We would so appreciate your support and help as we continue our mission of delivering MORE than a meal to hundreds of Laramie County residents every day!
