This is the most flexible volunteer opportunity in town! We are looking for volunteers who are willing to use their own car twice a month to take a senior to their medical appointment and other important places.HOW WOULD YOU GET AROUND VEGAS IF YOU COULD NO LONGER DRIVE?
Our Valley is home to hundreds of seniors who are facing this reality today. So, wrap your helping hands around your steering wheel and help a senior!
Helping Hands of Vegas Valley uses a state of the art transportation scheduling program that makes it easy for our volunteer drivers to sign up for those trips that work best for their schedule. Trips typically last between two to four hours.
All volunteers use their own vehicle* to transport clients and must:
pass a background screening
have a safe driving record with a current Nevada driver’s license
maintain proper auto insurance and a safe car
attend a four-hour training class
agree to volunteer for at least a year and take at least 2 trips per month
must be someone who checks and responds to emails on a daily basis
must have access to a printer to print out driving assignments
*Please note: this is completely voluntary; mileage reimbursement is not provided

Lunch Break's 9th annual Fall Gala will be held at Battleground Country Club in Manalapan. This year, we are celebrating 35 years of serving the community. Volunteers are needed for guest registration, coat check and to sell raffle tickets from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Volunteers are required to wear a white top, black pants and closed toe shoes.Available Shifts

Volunteers are needed to sell raffle tickets at the Haskell Invitational to benefit the Monmouth Park Charity Fund. Volunteers shifts are from 10:30 am to 1:30 pm and/or 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm. Monmouth Park Charity Fund has been a long time financial supporter of Lunch Break. The mission of the Monmouth Park Charity Fund is to raise and distribute funds to non-profit agencies in Monmouth County that provide services for those at risk in the community and those in need of special services.Available Shifts

New Technology Made Simple Now (New Tech Now) is giving a presentation on 3D Printing, Scanning, and Virtual Reality at the Senior Recreation Center on July 5th from 9am-2pm in Gainesville, FL. This will be set up as a walk through informational fair exposing seniors to technology involving 3D printing and scanning, virtual reality, Tinkercad, and Cricut. New Tech Now is a new nonprofit in the Gainesville area and we are trying to get the word out we are here to help seniors, veterans, and youth with exposure to exciting technology. We are trying to gain awareness and interest in 3D printing with seniors so they can be an integral part as future volunteers, helping to teach youth 3D printing and scanning thereby preparing youth for a career path in this technology.We need volunteers to help assist with 3D scanning (assist tech, no experience needed), help seniors login to Tinkercad, assist with monitoring Cricut machine, room management, and service of refreshments. Experience is not necessary but we need volunteers to help with people flow.
