LCCOA's Meal Program is looking for volunteers to help in the kitchen! Individually scheduled. Times depend on your availability but are generally between 8 am-1 pm Monday through Friday. Not all 5 hours are required.Possible duties: sweep, mop, load the dishwasher, fill ice containers from the ice machine, fill sugar/salt/pepper, and wrap silverware. Food handling for suitable volunteers; can opening, mixing, and serving food.

What will corporate volunteers provide?
- organize a collection of items suitable for sale in their company / among their friends (themselves knows best what colleagues/acquaintances like to donate and then buy)
- they will take care of promoting the bazaar among other colleagues, acquaintances ...
- they will invite shoppers
- transportation of items from the collection point to the charity shop as agreed by the volunteers of the company or will be arranged by Sue Ryder
- on D-day they will sell and serve in a charity shop

Prior to the pandemic, the Carter Burden/Leonard Covello Older Adult Program had a Chorus group named the "Covello Singers." We a currently looking for an enthusiastic and skilled volunteer to provide vocal sessions to our members in-person on a weekly basis.Qualifications
-Skilled in music/vocals
-Ability to teach older adults in all vocal levels (Intermediate and Advance)
-Ability to maintain positive relationships with CBN members and staff
-Patience working with older adults
Responsibilities
-Develop a weekly appropriate lesson plan on vocals/music for older adults 60 and over
-Prepare members for a virtual and in-person performance
-Follow up with Volunteer Department and center staff regarding session dates and attendance.
Volunteer hours are flexible. Center hours are 8am-4pm.
All Volunteers are to adhere to CDC/ Department of Health COVID-19 guidelines. Must wear mask during in-person service at all times.

Every day, members at our Older Adult Centers gather to socialize and enjoy a hot meal. The Carter Burden Network prides itself on serving restaurant-style meals made in our own kitchens and served on-site to our participants. Volunteers work both in the kitchen and dining room in food preparation, meal distribution, and cleaning capacities.Volunteer hours are from 11:00am - 1:00pm. Meal Service operates Monday-Saturday at the Covello Older Adult Program in East Harlem. Meal Service is also available Monday-Friday at the Carter Burden Luncheon Club on the Upper East Side or at our Roosevelt Island Older Adult Center.

The Alzheimer's Association leads the way to end Alzheimer's and all other dementia — byaccelerating global research, driving risk reduction and early detection, and maximizing quality care and support. This service project aims to strengthen the Alzheimer’s Association’s impact on local community wellness and foster new volunteer relationships.
This project will include the construction and assembly of 2 standing garden box structures to be donated to assisted living facility partners and their residents facing Alzheimer’s. Volunteers will be responsible for making lumber cuts, drilling together and assembling the box structure, painting and weather-treating the structure, and planting the garden box.

Community Partnership on Aging provides a limited service to select clients who are homebound and have no family or friends locally.Clients would need groceries from a pre-written grocery list, purchased with gift cards by our agency. Volunteers would shop and deliver the groceries to clients every other week (two clients on an every other week basis).

Due to the success of last year's charity golf tournament, Southside Community Connections (SCC) has decided to organize another tournament this year on May 6 at The Grill in Groveland, CA. We hope our charity tournament can raise funds to help our local organization continue offering our services to our community.Southside Community Connections is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit and has four programs that serve Groveland community residents: The Little House, the local community center; Wheels, an all-volunteer program that provides rides for residents unable to drive themselves to medical appointments, the bank, the market, the Post Office, Library, etc.; Village on the Hill which provides in-home services to residents who want to continue living on the hill but are unable to take care of simple household tasks like changing smoke alarm batteries, taking trash to the curb, changing high light bulbs, etc.; and the latest program, WAVE, the daily bus that takes residents to Sonora and Modesto at no charge.
