Neighbor Love wants to brighten the day of a WHOLE BUNCH of valuable seniors THIS Mother’s Day. Adopt-a-Senior For Mother’s Day is a GREAT way to let a valuable senior know that someone still loves them.

During a party we will be serving the residents desserts and drinks sponsored by Publix as well as delivering them gift bags. We will also be delivering gift bags around the home after the party.

National Rebuilding Day is an annual event hosted by Rebuilding Together Miami-Dade. Each year, we host hundreds of volunteers to repair and beautify the homes of 15-20 vulnerable homeowners in need.

Opportunity Details

The Day Centre provides a choice of programs and activities to enhance well-being by providing social, physical and mental stimulation. Volunteers participate as a team to support, and assist to implement the Day Program.

The duties include:
• Socialize with members;
• Serve lunch to members;
• Assist with walking/exercise program;
• Assist with all planned activities;
• Assist with distribution and clean-up of afternoon snack;
• Assist with fundraising activities, including Bazaar (optional);
• Attend interdenominational chapel service (optional);
• Attend mandatory meetings and training as scheduled; and
• Tracks and records personal volunteer hours.

Opportunity Details

Community Support Services helps seniors and adults with physical disabilities who live in their own homes.
The Telephone Assurance Program (TAP) provides a volunteer who calls a client every weekday morning to make sure the client is able to answer the phone and advises the Program Coordinator if the call is not answered.

Service project, Yard clean up for the elderly. Please bring gloves, and yard tools if you can. Lunch served.
We are doing a few of these yard work service projects to help out the elderly in our community, who can not take care of their yard by them self. And in turn the money we earn from this service project through Kohl's associates volunteers time will be put towards college scholarships for underprivileged students. Thank you in advance for your help.

Seniors’ Centre Without Walls Program allows low income, vulnerable and isolated seniors and adults with physical disabilities to access out network of programs and services from their home through teleconferencing services
Seniors’ Centre Without Walls Volunteers facilitates discussion and mediates programs/activities set out in the SCWW’s calendar.

Some of the duties are:
• Greets and welcomes clients;
• Leads groups, keeps discussions on track;
• Researches topics for discussion;
• Encourages participation by all group members;
• Resolves minor group conflicts;
• Reports and requests assistance for serious conflicts

Opportunity Details

The Transportation program provides transportation to essential services at a reasonable cost to seniors and adults with physical disabilities, who are not able to drive, use public buses or use Para Transpo. Volunteer drivers use their own, well maintained cars to drive clients to and from appointments.

You will be making an incredible difference to the lives of many seniors and adults with physical disabilities in our Community. You provide your daytime availability, and we will only schedule you with rides during those times.
