PROSPECTIVE VOLUNTEERS MUST CALL THE WAREHOUSE TO SCHEDULE VOLUNTEER TIMES. PLEASE DO NOT SHOW UP UNANNOUNCED.

Renesting Project receives donations of gently used household items that we give free of charge to those in need in Bossier and Caddo Parish.

Those donations need to be sorted, cleaned, and packed in order to be ready for a newly housed individual or family to pick them up.

Volunteers should expect to open boxes, sort items, discern if items are usable, do light cleaning of items, and pack them in boxes for clients.

We recommend wearing comfortable clothing and shoes suitable for longish periods of standing. The sorting/packing/office areas of our warehouse have air conditioning, but it can still get pretty warm, especially in summer. As with any time you are in our warehouse and in accordance with Louisiana mandates, a mask will be required at all times.

Volunteers will be required to sign a Release of Liability before their first time volunteering. You can find this form on our website (https://www.renestingprojectinc.org/wp-content/uploads/2019/01/RELEASE-OF-LIABILITY-form.pdf) if you would like to review it before your scheduled volunteer time.

If you need us to sign any documentation proving you volunteer we will be happy to do so.

Seniors living in Riverside and San Bernardino counties, will appreciate a cheerful greeting card with their meal. We are looking for about 3,000 cards from adults, teens and children.

Cards may have a simple greeting (such as Have a Great Day, Thinking of You, A Smile from My House to Yours, You’re Amazing, etc.) or a philosophical quotation. These are NOT Get Well cards. They are to cheer up seniors, some who are homebound due to illness and others who may be more alone during COVID-19.

Size: Any size card is good that is not larger than an 8½” X 11”sheet of paper. (2 cards or 4 postcard-size cards made from one 8 1/2” X 11” sheet is great.) No envelope is required.
