Are you looking for a simple way to help someone in our community? Are you a safe driver?

Becoming a Volunteer driver is an opportunity that can really make a difference in the quality of someone's life! Our Team of Volunteers help seniors and those with disabilities stay mobile with ride assistance.

Transportation is an essential need among older adults in our community, and it is the most requested senior independence service. Many seniors are no longer driving but still have doctor appointments to get to and errands to run. You can assist these individuals by volunteering!

As a volunteer driver, you assign yourself to requested trips that fit well with your schedule and transport the consumer in your own vehicle. Most transportation requests are for medical appointments, but we also accept transports to grocery stores, community centers, banks, hair salons, shopping centers, and social events.

If you would like more information about volunteering with Family Service Rochester, please reach out to a member of our Volunteer Engagement Team at 507-287-2010 or volunteers@familyservicerochester.org or sign up to volunteer via our Volunteer Portal.

Thank you!

**Registration and background check must be completed prior to volunteering. Must also have a valid drivers license, vehicle insurance, and be 18 or older.

Help us spread kindness by creating cards for 1,300 homebound seniors in our Meals on Wheels Program in Santa Clara County. Volunteers may craft or sign blank cards for our community's most vulnerable isolated aging population.

Many of us have a few blank cards lying around, which can be put to good use. Simply write a positive message, a funny joke or anecdote to help brighten someone’s day.

All cards should be a minimum size of 4 x 6 inches or 5 x 7 inches and each card must be inserted into individual envelopes (can be left unsealed or sealed). Upon completion, the cards may be mailed to our organization (address below) or dropped off in person at our office in Santa Clara.

Cards must be inserted into individual envelopes for easy distribution and mailed or dropped off to our office in Santa Clara (3100 De La Cruz Blvd. Suite 310, Santa Clara, CA 95054) by Thursday, May 16th. Office hours for card-drop off: Monday – Fridays between the hours of 9:00 am to 4:00 pm.

Individuals or groups can sign-up for the volunteer project. We recommend group leaders track the number of cards and total hours volunteered completed for the entire group.

To sign up for the Volunteer Project:
1. Email the Volunteer Coordinator notifying of your group’s sign-up: volunteer@mysourcewise.com.
2. Submit you or your group’s information, estimated card quantity, and estimated date of card drop-off via on our MS Forms: https://forms.office.com/r/hVzNRde6aS
