Join us during National Volunteer Week from April 10-16 to kickoff spring with a free clean-up for elderly, veterans, and disabled individuals across the USA through I Want to Mow Your Lawn Inc. We are seeking a group of passionate volunteers to help us make a difference in the lives of those who are most in need.

The goal of this activity is to provide a free spring clean-up service for elderly, veterans, and disabled individuals who may not have the physical ability or resources to do so themselves. The service will include lawn mowing, trimming, and other basic yard maintenance tasks to help improve the quality of life for these individuals and their families.

This volunteer opportunity is important because it allows us to give back to those who have served our country and contributed to our communities, as well as support those who may not have the means to maintain their own property. By volunteering, you will not only help to improve the appearance of their homes, but you will also help to create a safer and more welcoming environment for them to live in.

For corporate clients of Benevity, this volunteer opportunity provides a meaningful way to engage employees and give back to the community. It allows employees to participate in a volunteer activity that has a direct impact on the lives of others and supports a cause that aligns with their company's values. Additionally, Benevity's platform can make it easy for employees to track their volunteer hours and receive matching donations from their employer, further amplifying the impact of their efforts.

Join us for this rewarding volunteer opportunity and help make a positive difference in the lives of those who need it most.

Volunteers are needed to help make companion calls to our homebound neighbors!

Companion Calls are opportunities to check in with FeedMore WNY's home-delivered meal clients to ensure they are staying well, and to provide them with a friendly conversation. Many of FeedMore WNY's clients live on their own and are fairly isolated, and these phone calls help to combat that isolation and provide our homebound neighbors with some socialization.

Volunteers must be 18 or older to participate in this opportunity, and will be required to come into the Holt Street office to make these phone calls. Training will be provided onsite at the beginning of the shift.

The health and safety of our volunteers are top priorities. To ensure that we are keeping all of our volunteers safe we are asking anyone who has recently tested positive for COVID-19, or who is symptomatic to please stay home for the recommended five day period or until symptoms subside. As well as we ask that if you were recently exposed to someone with a suspected or confirmed case of COVID-19 and you are unvaccinated, or vaccinated and showing symptoms, that you stay home for the recommended five days and please reschedule your volunteer shift.

We are grateful for your support!

Cycling Without Age Seneca County's goal is to embrace our mission, “To change the world by combatting loneliness and building a stronger community across generations.” We do this through a simple act of kindness and by volunteers, taking senior citizens and individuals with disabilities on bicycle rides so they can engage with others and enjoy the great outdoors. The cycle rides allow the individuals to "feel the wind in their hair," and feel the freedom of mobility that they might otherwise be limited to. Using a specially designed three-wheeled cycle with a two-passenger seat at the front of the cycle and a driver’s seat in the rear where the cyclist (or Pilot, as we call them), we are able to pedal the passengers for a lovely cycle ride in the fresh air.
During the past 12 months, CWA Seneca County has given over 633 rides to individuals from ages 3 to 103, with our 26 volunteers donating over 352 volunteer pilot hours along with our Board of 7 donating over 168 hours of their time. Generally, we have at least two to three, or more volunteers go to a nursing or care facility or event and provide a safe, assisted cycle ride for our passengers. These rides allow them to get outdoors and feel the joy of cycling, without needing to pedal. We generally have one person who functions as the captain and works with the facility staff to schedule rides, another individual, coordinates our volunteers to assist on specific days and times, while others get the passenger waivers signed and assist with loading and unloading passengers safely on to the Trishaw. One volunteer usually interacts with the residents as they wait their turn and help with any issues that may arise. This program is a blessing to the riders, as well as the volunteers. We have some volunteers who help with the fundraising so we can purchase the Trishaws and for their maintenance and insurance costs. We currently serve the area of Seneca County, Ohio.
In just our first active year, we have 26 trained volunteer pilots

How would you like to support a senior veteran caregiver in Renton, whose hope it is to find social and practical support for herself and the person she cares for?

Would you be able to offer a helping hand with light household tasks or an organizing project to give this caregiver much-needed respite?

Volunteer hours are generally flexible, but if you have Tuesday, Thursday, and/or Saturday afternoon available that would be ideal.

Plus, you’ll share this opportunity by being a part of a small team of caring volunteers in South King County area.

Consider applying to the Care Teams program today!

Volunteer Care Teams provide caregivers an opportunity for much-needed respite and self-care by working together with other volunteer team members to provide social, emotional, and practical support, helping to alleviate social isolation and caregiver burnout.

No minimum experience needed; Training and ongoing support provided.

As one caregiver said of her Care Team: "I truly am grateful for our team. Their kindness and their readiness to provide meaningful interaction with my husband [the care recipient] has been greatly beneficial to me not feeling isolated and alone. This week your team allowed me to see people I had not seen since before the Pandemic. All of the team is warm, friendly, and compassionate."

All volunteers must be at least 18 years old, currently residing in WA state.
