Do you have weekday morning availability to bring joy to adults with disabilities?Become an activity assistant at Full Life Care's Everett Adult Day Health Center!
Individual or group participation for one-time or ongoing support are welcomed.
Times are flexible during our program hours: Mondays - Fridays, 9:30am - 4:30pm.
Greet and socialize with participants during their arrival, activity programs, and transition times.
Provide positive encouragement to participants, supporting their engagement
Assist staff group leaders with setting up, facilitating, and cleaning up activities and related supplies.
Support group activities, which may include, but not be limited to:
Arts and crafts workshops
Story sharing discussions
Cognitive games
Show-and-tell (sharing your photos, performing music, etc.)
All volunteers must be at least 18 years old and willing to wear a face mask in the presence of clients.

Serving on a non-profit board is a privilege and a responsibility. The board is responsible for ensuring the organization has the resources it needs to carry out its mission. Board members are expected to cooperatively determine and evaluate strategic direction and goals; develop policies, the annual budget, and bring the organization useful resources.Key Areas of Responsibility:
1. Policy administration – Ensure the by-laws are adhered to or revised when needed; recommend policies to determine purpose, principles, functions and activities of Tidewater Arts Outreach.
2. Evaluation – Regularly monitor all organization activities, including committee work, program work and operational activities.
3. Public and Community Relations – Take an active role in promoting the organization to the community. Attend at least one community event annually.
4. Human Resources – Approve all human resource policies; participate in board, advisory and committee member recruiting and development. Serve on at least one committee.
5. Finance – Approve and monitor TAO finances; create the financial climate for fulfilling its purpose through fundraising activities; authorize and approve audits as needed; recommend and monitor all expenditures.
*6. Fundraising – Take an active role in one our main fundraising events.
7. Schedule a minimum of two meetings per year, for another TAO representative and yourself, with a community leader you know.
8. Programs – Be familiar with TAO’s programs; attend at least one program annually.
*Specifically, we ask that each board member completes at least two of the following for ONE event per fiscal year:
-Secure corporate sponsorship and/or advertisers
-Secure event committee members
-Sell a block of tickets and/or serve on the event committee.
**Help TAO present house concerts:
We ask each board member to consider hosting a house concert, and provide on-hand support to one house concert annually.
Board members possess the ability to:
1. Make an annual financial contribution to the organization that is meaningful to them.
2. Be sincerely and enthusiastically interested in the organization’s service goals and objectives.
3. Have a specific interest, experience and/or knowledge in at least one area of board operation: finance, development, human resources, programs and marketing/public relations.
4. Attend all board meetings, serve on at least one board committee and participate in appropriate organization activities.
5. Participate in board retreats and training activities and adhere to board duties and responsibilities as outlined in by-laws.

- On the 3rd Tuesday of each month from 6 to 7:30 pm @ the offices of Crenshaw, Ware & Martin, 150 W. Main Street, Suite 1500, Norfolk 23510. *Plume Street Garage parking stubs to be validated.

If you are a talented seamstress or get excited about sewing opportunities, this is a great opportunity to share your talents in support of seniors living in residential care.Our primary goal is to support our residents to live with dignity and comfort, confidently while building self esteem.
Our residents are asking for support to have clothing altered to fit properly (hemming cuffs, waist-bands and even some adaptations for comfort and ease of dressing when abilities are lost or impaired.
This opportunity is new and open for 'shaping' as we go. We suggest, after initial screening and orientation, that a weekly call asking if there are any new items in the pick up location or requests for measurements. Drop by to pick up or visit with and measure the individual. This may be weekly or bi-weekly with a turnaround and return of the item in less than 14 days (so the resident is not left worried or concerned about the items!)
This is a great opportunity to balance personal time with engaging with seniors in care.

Volunteers are needed to serve as instructors of classes, coaches or to assist on events. The program offers 50+ events each month including crafts, dinners, classes, Special Olympics, drama, book club, bowling and many more!No matter how often you are able to volunteer, your efforts positively impact the lives of the people who participate in the program. Help a person with Dementia. Many families in our community face the challenge of caring for an older adult while balancing the demands of work and family. Centrica Adult Day provides social activities and physical care for loved ones during the day, ensuring that they enjoy the best quality of life in a beautiful and secure setting. We care for adults who are physically frail, have dementia and need extra assistance. Volunteers are needed for several roles.Companionship
1. Be a one-on-one companionship to a guests. This may include talking together, reading to client, listening to music, etc.
2. Assist guest participate in small and large group activities.
3. Greet and assist guests who are arriving and as they prepare to leave for the day.
Special Events
1. Assist for special events and group activities.
2. Help with set up, helping with tear down.
3. Assist clients to participate.
Meal Service: 10:30 AM until 1:30 PM

Located in North Vancouver’s Lynn Valley district, Cedarview Lodge is a licensed Intermediate Care Facility administered by Vancouver Coastal Health. The lodge has 89 individual rooms on two floors, including 7 Respite rooms. The facility offers accommodation for residents assessed as requiringComplex Care.
The team is seeking help in refreshing their garden for spring. This gardening project requires assembling, filling and moving 18 new raised garden beds. Volunteers are encouraged to bring with them large pails, shovels, tools and/or wheelbarrows to assist in this work. Dress for the outdoors & active work!
