THURSDAY 9am until 1pm Food Pantry set up, stocking, receiving a shipment, sorting and setting up Clothing Pantry
We are in a temporary building and everything except the grocery store is set up on Thursday and tore down on Saturday. In the summer and fall we service 80 to 90 families per week on Friday evening and Saturday morning. That requires a lot of clothes (which are completely put away every Saturday and put back out on Thursday. We received approximately 1500 pounds of food on Thursday which needs to be unloaded, unboxed and stocked or placed into inventory. No clients shop on Thursday.

Opportunity Details

Volunteer drivers deliver a hot nutritious meal to recipients’ homes during the lunch hour.

A route contains 8-14 stops all within a few mile radius. A route sheet with turn by turn directions, recipient's names, address and phone numbers is provided. Completing a route takes 60-90 minutes.

You choose:
The area where you would like to deliver.
The day of the week (M-F.)
The frequency you deliver (every week, every other week, once a month)
Individuals and groups are welcome.

Meals On Wheels of Tampa delivers 800 meals each day to the elderly and homebound in the Hillsborough County community. Meals On Wheels of Tampa is a 4 star charity and relies on the community for support by not accepting any government funding.

Opportunity Details

The Adopt-A-Family ministry at Catholic Charities works to connect donors with individuals and families served through our ministries during the holiday season. Last year, we were able to provide connections for more than 500 individuals and families. On Donor Drop-off Day, we help hundreds of donors unload their amazing donations for families, and help organize these donations so that recipients and ministries can later come and pick up these items.

Opportunity Details

This fundraiser is important to the agency in order to fund the services not funded through county, state, or federal agencies. Many of the services provide direct services to individuals with intellectual disabilities that would not other wise be eligible to participate. For some, these types of programs may be their only social interactions and provide opportunities for them to learn social and life skills. Opportunity Details

Our Sanctuary Lunch Service requires 16 volunteers per shift, Monday - Friday. The volunteer shift is 10:30 am -2:00 pm. Our meal service runs similarly to a restaurant. Volunteers will be assigned a role when they come in to volunteer. Volunteers can expect to be on their feet for the entire shift. All orientation and training will be provided the day of and is built into the volunteer shift. At BSM, we recognize that volunteering as a family can be very meaningful and welcome youth who are at least 16 years old to participate in the Sanctuary Lunch Service. All youth under the age of 18 need to have a released signed by a parent or legal guardian.
