Not only will you be serving others, but your organization will also receive great exposure by volunteering for Give for Good as organizations will be doing so across North Louisiana the same day!
How You Will Be Serving: Each volunteer has the opportunity of sorting, tagging, pricing clothes and household items in a comfortable and friendly environment. Be part of the family and its ministries of Compassion, Thrift Store, Disaster Relief and Recreational Ministry. We love volunteers!

Kohl's Cares volunteers are being asked to help us assemble the goodie bags prior to the lunch reception.

At Vision Forward, we provide comprehensive services to all individuals experiencing vision loss, helping them achieve important developmental milestones as well as educational, personal and professional goals.

Our signature event, Feast for the Senses, raises vital funds for these programs and services and in 2019, we are celebrating our 100th year of service to the community! Over 250 guests will be joining us on Thursday, May 2, 2019, at The Pavilion at Discovery World to help us celebrate our accomplishments, honor our history and prepare us for the next 100 years.

Volunteers assist the event in a variety of ways! We are reaching out to Kohl's to recruit a great group of individuals to run our "Spirits Pull" - a fun "fan favorite" activity that raises over $2,000 in support of our mission. Other event opportunities are available.

This event is a week long collection of used soft goods, which we in turn donate to the Big Brothers Big Sisters Savers Corporation. Volunteers are needed to help us move the collected items from our collection site to the Savers. This requires lifting pre-bagged soft goods into and out of the trucks or trailer.

Looking for a Kind Volunteer with a Passion for Carpentry, Woodworking and Refurbishing!
A Volunteer would want to consider this opportunity because it allows them to make a difference in the lives of seniors with memory impairment such as Alzheimer’s and/or dementia. The volunteer would be able to work on projects and add purpose to the lives of those attending. He or she would assist and teach our members in simple carpentry, woodworking, and furniture refurbishing. We are looking for a Volunteer with basic woodworking skill and creativity who is willing to come with ideas, a smile and patience. Our members have created benches, side tables, sanded and refurbished/ re-purposed furniture, made decorative signs and chalk painted. Volunteer would need to come with a plan and purposefully guide our members through the projects. Class sizes would be no more than 5 people, and we would like our volunteer to come twice a week. Oakwood Creative Care will provide needed supplies.

Opportunity Details

This event is a major fundraiser for Meals on Wheels of NEPA. It is attended by about 200 people. Meals on Wheels is hoping to raise $10,000 for this event. The agency serves over 800 meals daily to the elderly homebound and vulnerable population of Lackawanna and Monroe Counties. Meals on Wheels provides a daily hot and nutritious meal, and a safety check for those we serve.

Crime Stoppers Queensland is seeking development assistance to transition its current community safety reporting systems over to Microsoft Dynamics.

Crime Stoppers Queensland is a registered charity and community volunteer organisation and does not have the expertise nor funding support to make this important change possible. Microsoft acknowledges the tremendous value that Crime Stoppers provides to the community and started working with Crime Stoppers in 2018.

Crime Stoppers needs technical experts to help establish the Dynamics platform (provided by Microsoft) to match its existing systems for the capture of anonymous reporting from the community.
