Each year, Raemelton Therapeutic Equestrian Center hosts a fall fundraiser. The proceeds from the fundraiser help to ensure that the organization has adequate funds to provide services to disabled individuals. Raemelton provides scholarships to students with financial hardship to participate in our programs. It is our goal to never turn an individual away based on their inability to pay for services. Our fundraiser helps to ensure that our goal is met.Students, ages 2-1/2 through adult, with cognitive/physical disabilities participate in therapeutic riding and/or equine facilitated learning. The goal of the program is to not only promote cognitive and physical improvements, but also promote confidence and independence. The organization was founded in 1995 with 35 riders and 4 horses. Currently, we serve approximately 140 students per week per 10-week session and house 17 therapy equines.
We are requesting volunteers from Kohl's to help us tear down the event on the morning of Saturday, September 7th at 9:00 am. Some of the duties would include: clearing trash/taking trash to dumpsters; cleaning kitchen; moving tables and chairs; transporting supplies, food, beverages to cars/trucks; miscellaneous tasks.

The Ikorodu destitute centre in Owutu Lagos State is a residential facility set up by the Lagos State Government to house the homeless and people with mental instability. Weekly, the government officials drive around the state and take these people off the streets and bring them to the centre where they are either identified and released to their relatives or kept there indefinitely. Currently, there are 1,782 individuals residing in this centre comprising of women, children and men. The government provides them with shelter, meals and healthcare but this is grossly inadequate hence our support to the home. The Obijackson Foundation embarks on weekly soup kitchen support to all the residents of the centre during which we dish out cooked meals and interact with the residents. We also provide infant formula for the little ones, donate diesel for powering their generating set to enable them pump water and provide drug supplies to their clinic. Once in a while, we also donate clothing and sanitary items to all the residents of this home.
It is important one volunteers for this event as you get to embark on one of the purest forms of charity an individual can provide to his fellow man. These people not only need material support but also alot of emotional support and interaction with you can help provide this and give them hope for the future.

Are you looking to evolve your purpose in life? Consider joining a board for a non-profit that is driven by a singular mission with a huge impact:The Gift of Adoption Fund seeks to fill the void that separates child from family through adoption completion grants, giving vulnerable children a permanent home and the chance to thrive.
Gift of Adoption is a national 501(c)(3) that provides the final funds that prospective adoptive parents need to complete the adoptions of vulnerable children from within the U.S. and from around the world.
Networking and fundraising are the primary responsibilities of board members.
To fundraise, we organize fun social events, online campaigns and more. The board currently consists of professionals who volunteer their time and connections to further the cause. You can live anywhere in the state but are expected to participate in monthly calls and, ideally, quarterly in-person meetings. 100% of the money we raise goes directly to completing families' adoptions in your state.
We are a team of smart, dedicated (and, we like to think, fun!) people who believe that a loving family is a basic human right.
We are looking for Board Members who:
- Are passionate about volunteering to help children.
- Have creative fundraising ideas and the motivation and social network to make them happen!
- Are connected to and/or interested in outreach to the local business community.
- Enjoy connecting people and finding partnership opportunities.
- Are comfortable reaching out to their network of family and friends about a good cause.
- Have strong communication skills, and are highly organized.
- Want a volunteer opportunity that makes a permanent difference!
We expect that you will:
- Help plan and attend fundraising events.
- Work with the other board members to collectively raise money to fund adoptions.
- Participate in one board call a month.
- Attend a quarterly in-person meeting.
-Make a personal donation each year that you serve on the board, and meet a fundraising goal.
- Help recruit other board members to join the mission.
