Calgary Meals on Wheels is looking for meal delivery volunteers! Make a difference in your community by helping our team deliver nutritious meals to over 850 grateful clients each day. Calgary Meals on Wheels delivers meals between 10:30am-1:00pm Monday – Friday, and we are looking for volunteers with the following availability:

Regular Route – Pick a day of the week and frequency that works for you (weekly, monthly, etc.), and we’ll match you with an available route in your quadrant of the city. You’ll do the same route each time you volunteer and get to know the route and clients.

Flexible Spares (City-wide) – Can’t commit to a regular route? No worries! We need help covering gaps; sometimes planned, sometimes unexpected and last-minute. All available routes are posted online for you to choose the route and day(s) that suit your schedule.

Couriers (Downtown) – Join one of our staff drivers in a branded van to deliver meals to clients downtown. At each stop, you’ll take the meals into the building while the driver stays with the van. You can courier on a regular frequency (ex: weekly on Mondays) or fill-in as a spare based on your schedule.

Requirements:
• Availability 10:30am - 1:00pm, at least one day Monday - Friday
• Valid Alberta Driver’s License and access to a reliable vehicle (not required for Courier)
• Completed Vulnerable Sector Check, interview, references, and training.
• Commitment for a minimum once a month for 6 months

Since 1965, Calgary Meals on Wheels has never missed a day of scheduled delivery due to the dedication of our extraordinary volunteers. Each weekday, we depend on over 65 volunteers to help deliver to more than 60 routes in communities across our city. Our volunteers see first-hand the impact of how a nutritious meal and community connection can improve the health and well-being of others.

To learn more, contact our Intake Coordinator at volunteerintake@mealsonwheels.com (403) 243-2834 or apply online at https://www.mealsonwheels.com/volunteer
